Two grave errors leaders can make when serious sin arises in the church: One is not dealing with the sin and refusing to discipline the unrepentant sinner (1 Cor 5). The other is to deal with the sin but refusing to graciously forgive and comfort the repentant sinner (2 Cor 2).

@TomBuck I wonder how they determine the ranking. I’m glad that Smith Co. is considered one of the most religious, but there is still so much to do here. There are so many people who are lost and in need of Jesus.

They ranked the “most religious counties” in the state of Texas. Our county was number one.

I believe there are some men who once stood strong because they were borrowing the spiritual backbones of MacArthur and Baucham. But now that John and Voddie are gone, those men are revealing they never had a spine of their own. May God grant us more men who will stand strong!

If the parable of the Good Samaritan doesn’t convince an unbeliever that, left to himself, he’ll never be able to fulfill God’s requirement to “love your neighbor as yourself,” nothing will.

@TomBuck No! May we receive God's strength to all stand strong when the time comes. Not borrow strength from another human.

It’s been a great week of VBS as we have our closing ceremony. I thank God for the hundreds of kids who attended and the over 100 workers who volunteered this week.

Steve Jobs was once asked about his view of God. After Jobs' death, a biographer later wrote about the interview where Jobs' said, “I’m about fifty-fifty on believing in God. For most of my life, I’ve felt that there must be more to our existence.” The writer said Jobs fell silent for some time and then said, “But on the other hand, perhaps it’s like an on-off switch. Click! And you’re gone. Maybe that’s why I never liked to put on-off switches on the devices I created.”

@TomBuck Then start school an hour later. Why inconvenience everyone for something that is solved locally.

We tried making DST permanent before… “But what looked good on paper became much less popular once winter arrived. Under permanent daylight saving time, sunrise occurs roughly one hour later during the winter months than it would under standard time. In some parts of the country, that meant large numbers of Americans were starting their day in darkness. In Washington, D.C., sunrise occurred after 8 a.m. on some winter mornings. Across the country, children waited at bus stops before dawn and commuters traveled to work in the dark. Reports of schoolchildren carrying flashlights and parents accompanying children to bus stops before sunrise became a recurring feature of news coverage. Several traffic accidents involving children received widespread attention, further intensifying public concern.“ #Echobox=1784112989" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">newsweek.com/the-us-tried-p…

@TomBuck It's much easier to push school start times an hour than have everyone in the country trying to remember fall back and spring forward.
