Didn't even bother to wear nath let alone groom wearing सत्यशोधकी पगडी (pawars hate Puneri pagdi). Usually in inter cultural weddings the bride tries to keep some elements of her culture or they have two separate weddings

It's a mistake to think Asuras are bad and Devas are good.
Asuras (meaning powerful) were the group of people who lived here first, these Asuras started the Vedic Rituals learning them from Prajapati.
Devas came later and learned Yajña from Asuras, and slowly pushed Asuras away after 12 major Deva-Asura wars.
Devas also got corrupted after Indra started animal sacrifice and abandoned Dharma (as mentioned in Mahabharata), Sages opposed this and cursed Indra and king Vasu for supporting these avedic practices leading to their decline.
We (Manushyas) are descendants of these Devas and Asuras as a separate group.
Puranas show Asuras as bad and Devas as good because they were composed keeping Deva perspective in mind.

My cousin sister got married to a Telugu Brahmin family. We had initially planned to perform a few rituals in our own traditional way after the groom's side completed theirs. But we were so impressed and overwhelmed by their customs that we simply continued following their traditions.. Honestly, I was amazed. It wasn't that they were doing something different or unique, in many ways, these are the original Hindu traditions that have been preserved with remarkable dedication. Somehow, they managed to safeguard and pass them down through generations, while in much of North India, centuries of Islamic influence altered or replaced many traditional practices to a considerable extent... It was fascinating to witness how deeply rooted and authentically preserved their customs still are...
