@TouchlineX So funny how they did the same for the club World Cup and when ticket sales were so low they started giving out free tickets, a couple of my friends got emails with free tickets to the games. Greed would destroy football if something doesn’t change

• What do you think about people criticizing ticket prices for the World Cup? 🚨🗣️ 𝗡𝗘𝗪: Gianni Infantino: "You can't even watch a college game in USA for under $300... and this is the World Cup." "We have to look at the market. The American market is the most developed entertainment industry, so we have to apply their rates." "Tickets can be resold. So if prices were lower, people would buy them all and resell them anyway."

@youngharold @Delta @AmericanExpress Sorry to break it to you but there’s no such thing as “spirit customers”, I’ve flown spirit, United, Jet Blue, AA, Delta. Most people don’t have loyalty to any airline and just fly when the price seems reasonable

@KIheonye @NPFL_News “Their league”? Keep deceiving yourself. If not for the money they earn from international supporters, most European leagues wouldn’t even acknowledge you. You’re the type that contributes nothing positive, but the moment there’s a chance to bring something down, you jump on it.

@truechris39 @NPFL_News Some people are just daft. So because they play internationally means he can’t be better than them? These same international players are so good that the Super Eagles international stars can’t beat a South African team made up of players in playing in Africa.

The omission of Ayobami Junior from both the Super Eagles and CHAN Eagles setups is, frankly, difficult to justify. It raises serious questions about whether anyone within the national team setup is actively watching the #NPFL. Just watch and enjoy.

@DerrickEvans4WV @jaime_solis You do realize Islam is a religion and not an ethnic group? Many multi-generational Americans are Muslims by birth and some converted so… But then again, if you were any brighter you wouldn’t make such a statement in the first place.

@Adenry10 @Gen_Buhar I once dealt with an older Nigerian mechanic who nearly took advantage of me while repairing my car. It’s one thing to scam someone, but another to scam your own countryman—someone young enough to be your son.

@Adenry10 @Gen_Buhar Ignorance is bliss… I’ve seen Nigerians in Tokyo working as pimps—grown men in their 40s; in Italy, standing in train stations to steal people’s change; in the U.S., running PPP loan scams and other frauds. I’m Nigerian myself, and it saddens me—but it’s the bitter truth.

For the first time today, I realized that the problem of Nigeria is not leadership per say, but the opportunists nature of its citizens. I was scheduled for an appointment at the Russian Embassy Abuja by 11am today, and somehow, I missed my way to the Embassy. Instead of the Russian Embassy, I found myself at the UN Office which had the same structure painting with the Russian Embassy. I checked my time and it was 10:42am. Looking frustrated, I asked for directions and the security guards directed me to a cluster of Taxi Drivers at the opposite side. I crossed to the other side and immediately about five of the Taxi Drivers rushed towards me. "Oga where you dey go"? They asked simultaneously "Russian Embassy" I responded "Ahhhhh! Russian Embassy. E far o" one of the men responded. "Is about two hours drive from here" the man added "How much will you take me there"? I asked "Oga na 30k o" he responded My heart skip. I was pleading and negotiating with this man to please accept 20k as I was running out of time but he stood his ground. A Hausa man hawking orange who was following our conversation, came behind me and whispered in Hausa "Dan dai kana sauri ne, Amman akasama zaka iya zuwa Russian Embassy" (if not because you are in a haste, you can trek to Russian Embassy). The orange hawker then instructed me to follow him. I checked my time and it was 10:49am. We trekked few miles, take just two turns and crossed over an overhead bridge. Boom! We are at the front of Russian Embassy. I checked my time and it was 10:57am. I could not help but hug the man tightly until the orange on his stray start falling. We chatted for few minutes. He told me he came all the way from Ingawa Local Government in Katsina State. I told him I am from Funtua local government in Katsina State. We quickly exchange contact and I dash off. While waiting for my turn to be invited into the Embassy, my mind traveled back to the Taxi Driver I was desperately begging to accept 20k. Some of us are worse than the leaders we complain everyday about. It's just opportunity we lack. Ismail Abdulazeez Mantu Diary of a Traveler

@BolarinwaYusu21 @eduboy316 @K1Says @thenff @NGSuperEagles The fact is, a good coach wins those 4 games Chelle didn’t. If we’re paying $50k/month and this is the best he can do, why not stick with an NPFL coach? Why pay so much to accept mediocrity? We could get Maikaba or Fidelis who would get the same result or better for cheaper.

@AliaminB82261 @eduboy316 @K1Says @thenff @NGSuperEagles Finidi won the league in the playoff era — credit to him, he’s a good coach. With the same grace, I think he’s better than Chelle. But Finidi is very defensive-minded, not the best fit for the Super Eagles. That’s why I say he wasn’t the best NPFL coach for the Super Eagles job.

@BolarinwaYusu21 @eduboy316 @K1Says @thenff @NGSuperEagles We’re paying him 8x what Finidi earned, yet you excuse mediocrity because he’s foreign? Anything short of WC qualification is failure — Chelle should be sacked, because no local coach would be given this grace. We play the worst football ever, what good does he bring to the SE?

@AliaminB82261 @eduboy316 @K1Says @thenff @NGSuperEagles Finidi wasn’t even the best coach in the league. If you follow the NPFL, you’d know. While I thought the appointment was decent, it wasn’t based on merit. If you’re not bringing in a world-class foreign coach, at least give the best local coaches a fair chance.

@BolarinwaYusu21 @eduboy316 @K1Says @thenff @NGSuperEagles I guess we’ll never know… Like I said, we give foreigners more grace. If this coach had won his 4 WC qualifying matches, we would now be in pole position to qualify. For context, Finidi was paid ₦10 million per month, while Chelle collects ₦78 million per month.

@yincanovski @K1Says @thenff @NGSuperEagles Bullshit. I’ve said it since his appointment — this man is bang average, with no tactical prowess. The problem is Nigerians give more grace to foreigners than they ever give to their own. Eguavoen would’ve done better. Instead, we’re paying someone $50k monthly for this nonsense

@Ayphilydegreat @OgaNlaMedia So funny when people say this. Isn’t he the one who selected those players? These are the same players who were good enough to win 2–0 today. Yet in your eyes, the white man can do no wrong. The truth is, Eric Chelle is bang average.

EFCC’s Case against Martins Vincent Otse The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in the exercise of its mandate of tackling economic and financial crimes, invited Martins Vincent Otse owing to a series of petitions bordering on sundry issues of alleged financial crimes raised against him. He refused to show up in spite of several invitations sent to him through his known addresses and medium of communication. The petitions pertain to grave allegations of financial malfeasance which cannot be ignored by the Commission. It is needful to admit that the Commission is aware of several unguarded attacks of the suspect against its operations. While such conduct is condemnable, his arrest was not informed by such attacks. The relevant law enforcement agency will be allowed to look into them. The EFCC has a lawful right to hold Otse in custody like any other suspect being investigated by the Commission. The appropriate Remand Order was obtained in this regard. He has been offered an administrative bail and would be released after fulfilling all the bail conditions. The Commission appreciates the interest of Nigerians in its operations. The passion, enthusiasm and torrential reactions to all of its activities are welcome. However, insinuations about its motive in carrying out its assignment should no longer continue. The EFCC should be allowed to do its job without fear or favour. As soon as investigations are concluded, charges will be filed.
