Looks #AWS needs a new zone in us-east. First we can’t get RI's in zone-B. Now it looks like zone-E is getting bought out too. PITA.

Found the culprit in VirtualBox being slow in Mavericks. % cputime. #OSX #VirtualBox

@cloudcontroller @drewblas I repro’d it on an EC2 instance. Default nproc ulimit is 1024, adjust to 4096, restart mysql the issue goes away.

Is anyone else running VirtualBox guests inside of OSX Mavericks? It seems considerably slower than MountainLion.

If you’re using MySQL 5.6 on RDS be prepared to enjoy ulimit issues. Going back to 5.5. #RDS #AWS #mysql

A backlog of pending IO keeps deferring until the process holding the lock is kicked. Just a heads-up for anyone still fighting EBS.

Might be self evident, but on some systems the EBS issue isn't corrected until the process is restarted.

This seems to still affect more than just EBS. Still seeing issues with redis replication.

@aws Interzone issues in us-east-1? I'm seeing huge slowdowns in replication in the last 30min.

What the hell is going wrong on #AWS atm. I'm getting machines in launch-configs that are a month old coming up in the wrong sec group.
