@ljuwktshit its such a funny response like…man who only cares about one issue convinced everyone else is equally sensitive about this thing
English

@tongzhi_mate Im not trying to aggro you. I didnt understand your post was about non-academics bc I think the capacity to intensively study historical imperialisms is fairly limited by resources/language limits so it wasn't clear to me what form of organizer work would be engaged in this task
English

@left_plain Feel like you’d be sympathetic given ur frustration w ppl peddling snake oil about China from BRICS news rather than actually knowing about the country
English

@tongzhi_mate so your tweet is about people who are engaged in the private theorization of imperialism (non historical?) not sure I understand how the critique/appeal to greater specificity is supposed to apply to non-specialists
English

@left_plain My friends in the uk, who have to deal with questions of race and diaspora politics. Plenty of DSA international committee comrades. others I will not list in public.
English

@tongzhi_mate what organizers are engaged in extensive accounts of theories of imperialism?
English

@left_plain Talking abt organizers, not academics. Wells bottoming out on that sinking ship…
English

@left_plain Just learned that 机 is simplified 機, in Japanese it's treated as a different character and means "desk"
English

@AuthorialGail the issue has nothing to do with literalism, the two character compound has its own (modern) definition that is not a composite of the individual potential readings of the component characters in wenyanwen. it’s just not how words are formed or meanings read back into them
