I’m originally from Ahwaz city myself. A lot of people there (and in Khuzestan in general) speak Arabic because we’re right on the border with Iraq, but a lot of them originally came from outside Iran. They settled there during the time of the Shah when people were moving for work and opportunities (largest oil refinery there) The region has always been mixed not some pure ancient Arab homeland like that website claims.
