It also massively boosted his existing powers — he's shown to be noticeably stronger, faster, and more durable afterward, with a big power surge right after injection. Not "zero effect," and definitely not *only* immortality.
The show makes the enhancement pretty clear in the scene.

Questionable with a hamstring injury is such a mixed bag of emotions lol I’m operating as if he’s done for this round, which means we’re rooting for 2 things:
- Knicks win 2 of the next 5 vs PHI without him.
- CLE vs DET goes 7 so the ECF is guaranteed to start the 19th, giving OG a full 13 days off.
