And then, there is Remo. The thunder rising from Ogun. A team not built on nostalgia, but on the relentless hunger of now. The dream of today, the force of tomorrow.
They stand six points clear at the top, the winds of destiny at their backs. Every match a statement, every victory a declaration. They play football as if possessed, as if the ghosts of the past demand their coronation.
The stakes? Everything. The prize? More than points. The battle lines are drawn—not on a map, but in the minds of the players who know that nights like this define careers.
Here was how I introduced the Southwest Derby between @SunshineFCAkure et @RemoStarsSC Like, Rt, Share if you fancy❤️

@AbbaAudu_ @DangoteGroup So long an explanation for this typical price pyrotechnics from Dangote. The more things change the more they remain the same.. Plus ca change...lets brace up for more explanation and more increase.. What more to expect in a season of hopeless hope.

INCREASE IN PUMP PRICE NOT FROM US ― DANGOTE
We wish to clarify that the recent adjustment in our ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (Petrol) is directly related to the significant increase in global crude oil prices. As crude remains the primary input in the production of PMS, any fluctuation in its international price inevitably impacts the cost of the finished product.
At Dangote Petroleum Refinery, we recognise the critical importance of affordable fuel for all Nigerians, and we remain committed to offering the best value with guaranteed quality to our customers. While we have made a 5% adjustment to our ex-depot price from N899.50 to N950 per litre, it is important to note that this increase is considerably lower than the 15% rise in global crude oil prices, which has seen Brent Crude rise from $70 to $82 in a matter of days, in addition to the premium for Nigerian crude (approximately $3 per barrel) in international markets. Furthermore, Dangote Refinery has maintained the Single-Point Mooring (SPM) ex-vessel price at N895 per litre.
All our partners, including Ardova, Heyden, and MRS Holdings, will offer petrol to Nigerians at a retail price of N970 per litre nationwide. We have absorbed the increased logistics costs to guarantee uniform pricing across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Dangote Refinery has absorbed approximately 50% of the cost increases in the international oil market. This is due to our unwavering commitment to quality and affordability, as well as the ownership of the refinery by Nigerians, which remain central to our mission. If Dangote Refinery were to pass on the entire increase in the price of crude oil to the market, the retail price of PMS would be approximately N1,150 to N1,200 per litre in some locations, compared to the current price of N970 per litre.
We are committed to providing reliable, top-quality petrol to the Nigerian people at competitive prices. In these challenging times, we continue to prioritise the best interests of Nigerians, striving to shield consumers from the full impact of global price volatility while adapting to evolving market conditions.
We sincerely appreciate the continued trust and support of Nigerians as we strive to deliver the best value for their money and contribute to the development of a self-sufficient economy that is resilient to international price fluctuations.
In the interest of transparency and good governance, Dangote Refinery will commence publishing its ex-depot price, ex-vessel price as well as pump price on a weekly basis so that consumers are not exploited.
We would like to express our gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the introduction of the visionary Naira for Crude Initiative. This groundbreaking initiative has enabled consistent access to high-quality PMS for all Nigerians, while also insulating the Nigerian consumers from the volatility of the global oil market.

@Libyan_FF Sincere rubbish. Very predictable response. The issue is not diversion of the flight but the treatment on arrival and the deliberate delay and uncouth behaviour of the Libyan host. Which hospitality allows for 13 hours wait at any airport for a national team. It surely rankles
English

@VictorOladokun Never too late even after 64 years of independence. And to think that we were glistening with Empire Games gold and world title before then surely rankles. Atleast let these Eagles rove if they can't fly!!
English

@VictorOladokun @Victor. Ever faithful to sports and ever sure of challenges therein. A splendid keeper in our days at Great Ife. Impeccable summary on why Eagles truly can't fly.. Seven solid reasons and seven remains the number of perfection. How I wish our sports leaders can read and act.
English

@renoomokri Rant of an ant.. ! If you know you know..the one who won Lagos and Abuja in presidential election goes beyond clannish rants. Grow up @ Reno . Your gwo gwo rants simply despicable.

I waited for twenty four hours to see if Peter Obi would even acknowledge the vile attacks on the Oba of Benin by some Nigerians, but he has completely ignored it, preferring instead to gaslight Nigerians on the seizure of Nigeria's Presidential jets arising out of a decades-old contract dispute by the Ogun State Government.
Nigerians, I ask you, if a group from the Southwest had insulted the Obi of Onitsha the way these people savaged the revered Oba of Benin, would Peter Obi have been silent?
That is the same way Peter Obi called Deborah Samuel's murder in Sokoto 'heinous', but the burning of Chinedu and Omama in Onitsha got no mention till today. Total radio silence. As if the incident never occurred. Because it was in Igboland, not the North or Southwest.
When soldiers were killed in Okuama, Delta State, Peter Obi IMMEDIATELY condemned the incident and called for SPEEDY action against the killers. When there were killings of civilians and soldiers in Plateau. Mr. Obi INSTANTLY condemned the act and called for a RAPID response. But two weeks after four police officers, seven traditional rulers, and four neighbourhood watch vigilantes were killed by suspected IPOB/ESN in Imo and Anambra, Peter Obi has remained SILENT. Not even a SQUEAK.
This is the pattern with Peter Obi. If it happens in Arewa, or Yoruba land, he and Oby Ezekwesili will shout and dance naked. But when it happens in Igboland, they will chop and clean mouth. That is why Peter Obi lied, saying that a subsisting court verdict ordered the release of Nnamdi Kanu.
However, contrary to Peter Obi's IPOB-inspired lies, in a unanimous ruling on December 15, 2023, the Supreme Court ruled that Nnamdi Kanu had a case to answer for treason. After that, on May 20, 2024, the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ruled that Nnamdi Kanu should be denied bail.
I repeat, Obi lacks the nationalism and patriotism to treat all Nigerians equally. That is why he went to Kaduna and defended his ESN. The same ESN that he has refused to condemn after their latest Enugu killings.

@ruffydfire Even those who have homes can't boast of a good sleep like the homeless on the streets. Sleep remains a luxury where life counts for less and leaders care less. Imagine that we have a Himanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation ministry on freeze over six months and who cares.
English

The problem of homelessness makes me cry, I see people sleeping on the streets in many parts of VI and I am at sea, if this part is suppose to exude prosperity and we have people sleeping on the streets then what can be done about it.
Solutions
Provision of short stay hostels that can at least ensure a good night sleep
Registration and documentation of the rough sleepers so that we can provides regular health checks until they get a job
Training and identification of those with talents in a bid to put them into the job market.
Psychological therapy; constant counseling is also needed for such persons.
I am ready to work with the local government LCDA, Iru Victoria island by getting counseling for such persons.

@ruffydfire There is this solar company Lumos Nigeria that says it provides power for all and yet sells a product that works with darkness. I fully paid for a Lumos box since March to own it and till date it is telling me to load credit. I don't want to think it is a rip-off in this season
English

It’s a tough balancing act, that will be a realistic position on the strike. I must also add government has shown bad faith, I don’t support the over 400k minimum wage I have always contested between 100-200k as a fair figure but government spending 1 trillion on 47km of coastal road at the expense of workers is clear indisputable indiscretion.

@alexottiofr The best of us finds his rest. We celebrate the passage of a leader who was betrayed by the party he worked so hard to build..Sincere sympathy to his family and friends. I will never forget the bitterness in his voice after the presidential primaries.
English

It is with a heavy heart that we received the news of the passing of a distinguished leader and pioneer, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, the First Civilian Governor of the Old Abia State.
As we mourn his loss, we also celebrate his remarkable legacy. Dr. Onu was a man of exceptional character and wisdom, whose contributions to our state and nation will never be forgotten. His commitment to public service was unparalleled, and his leadership qualities are exemplary and guidance for all. His statesmanship and dedication to the welfare of our people have set a standard for all of us in public service. His life was a testament to the power of decency, decorum, and contentment.
In honour of Dr Onu, we pledge to continue the democratic journey he so bravely charted, ensuring that the well-being of every Abian remains our utmost priority. His legacy will live on as we strive to emulate his virtues and uphold the values he cherished.
Our thoughts are with the Onu family, the people of Ebonyi State, and all who grieve this monumental loss. May his soul find eternal peace, and may those he left behind find strength during this difficult time.
