Russians are dropping thousands of mines across Kherson city centre. They are literally everywhere. Bus stops, outside cafés, places where civilians walk every day. These are not aimed at soldiers. It’s completely indiscriminate and designed to murder and terrify civilians. This week locals and officials are now warning that newer variants have been dropped and are even more dangerous. Some reports suggest modified versions with more sensitive triggers, making them easier to detonate from slight movement or disturbance.

@MeanwhileInUA And 1% of Ukrainian land area equals 0.036% of russia's land area. The last thing russia (or the world) needs is more russian land. In response, the West will just stand by when China decides to take back "historical Chinese land" or more. That'll be larger than the 0.036%.

Russia paid half a million soldiers for about 1% of Ukrainian land. That is not momentum. That is a costly war of attrition. ㅤ President Stubb’s argument is simple: Russia’s gains are tiny, its losses are enormous, and the old manpower model is starting to fail. Ukraine is inflicting over 30,000 Russian troop losses a month, Moscow is no longer replacing them at the same pace, and even the Russian economy is feeling the strain. ㅤ A war sold as endless Russian strength starts looking very different once even Russia’s size stops covering the cost. ㅤ

We are not at war with Russia, but Russia has most assuredly been at war with us -- and the entire West -- for many years.
Ukraine News 🇺🇦@Ukrainene

Now #Russia is directly targeting the #US by supplying satellite imagery and intelligence to #Iran enabling a ballistic missile strike destroying a high-value E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft, worth $270 million, and injuring a dozen US troops This isn’t indirect involvement anymore according to multiple reports from Air & Space Forces Magazine, WSJ, and others, an E-3 Sentry AWACS (tail 81-0005) was destroyed on the ground at Prince Sultan Air Base in #SaudiArabia by an Iranian missile/drone strike on March 27. About 12 US troops were injured. Photos show extensive damage.

@VolodyaTretyak Still no idea who tf they want to defend russia from. Nobody has threatened russia, and noone wants their land (though withdrawal from Královec would be appreciated). Oh, China may want land back! Current war in wrong time zone. Russia should seek allies, not make sworn enemies

Girkin is upset that Russia lacks a decisive and selfless leader like Iran: Observing the behavior of the Iranian authorities, I involuntarily sigh with regret for two reasons: a) Unfortunately, Iran's courage (and the courage of its leaders) is unlikely to help it - it will be "bombed back to the Stone Age" (I don't rule out a nuclear strike either - Netanyahu is more than capable of such a step), and Russia and China will "strongly condemn" it and nothing more. b) It's a pity that a country much stronger than Iran doesn't have such decisive and selfless leaders who are ready to sacrifice their lives (their own) but defend their country's and their people's interests. And do it competently, decisively and effectively.

@pepel_klaasa Switzerland doesn't need F-35 planes, it's surrounded by, and defended by EU and NATO members in all directions. Gripens would be a better fit for Switzerland's geography and infrastructure. And instead of letting other countries defend it, Switzerland should strengthen NATO.

They’re really laying a solid foundation for future trust in the United States right now, aren’t they. A classic “watch their hands” kind of policy. Switzerland has suspended payments for the Patriot air defense system due to multi-year delivery delays, hoping to put pressure on the United States. This measure proved ineffective: the American side continues funding Patriot production by reallocating money from other Swiss defense programs, in particular from the budget allocated for F-35 fighter jets. I would add that it’s far from certain that these funds are actually going toward Patriots intended specifically for Switzerland, especially given the current demand in the Middle East. Earlier, EU funds allocated for purchasing weapons for Ukraine were redirected in roughly the same way. This became possible due to the mechanism of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program, under which all payments are pooled into a single fund and can be redistributed across projects. This flexibility is essentially buried in the fine print of the contract. As a result, Switzerland has faced funding gaps in its F-35 program, which had to be urgently covered through additional payments. The situation has drawn criticism from politicians, and in Switzerland there are already growing doubts about the effectiveness of such contracts, as well as the overall level of trust in the United States. t.co/AZYr3DhH73

@Longtstanding Dude looks comfortable, tired and soft like Steinmeier did, and follows the same ostrich policy he did when cozying up to Lavrov. Speaking down to Ukrainians won't make Rheinmetall more competitive, quite the contrary. He's actively destroying goodwill and shareholder value.

Dude has never met a Ukrainian housewife. First of all that is not an insult, they are some of the bravest women I have ever met. They are also by far some of the most frightening women I have ever met. They have the kind of witchcraft that could turn his ass into a fucking Lego.

You can call it whatever you want, but these “toys” prove their effectiveness every day on the front line, saving lives under shelling. And the whole world is already acknowledging that.

This should be front page news across America. Preparing for a U.S. invasion, Denmark deployed soldiers to Greenland with orders to blow up runways and brought blood supplies to treat the wounded. France, Germany, Norway, and Sweden quietly coordinated alongside them. These are NATO allies. Countries that have stood with us over the last 80 years. They looked at this president and started making contingency military plans. Trump destroyed decades of American credibility in a matter of weeks and handed Russia and China a gift they couldn’t have ever dreamed of. bbc.com/news/articles/…

We have the utmost respect for the Ukrainian people’s immense efforts in defending themselves against the Russian attack - now for more than four years. Every single woman and man in 🇺🇦 is making an immeasurable contribution. It is to Ukraine’s particular credit that it is fighting highly effectively even with limited resources. The innovative strength and the fighting spirit of the Ukrainian people are an inspiration to us. We are grateful to be able to support 🇺🇦 with the resources at our disposal. @AKamyshin

Yikes. The US has burned through ~850 Tomahawks in 4 weeks. That's roughly a quarter of the inventory. At ~600 produced/year, that's ~1.5 years of production gone in a month. Hard to see what long-term political goal this buys. washingtonpost.com/national-secur…

@PeterHRatcliffe Finland ordered 64 F-35As in 2023. Only one has been "delivered" so far. It is in Arkansas, USA - used for training. So Finland actually has zero F-35As. Finland ordered David's sling air defense from Israel in 2023. None delivered so far. Good luck trying to get them by 2035.

Let me get this straight. Countries around the world have paid the US in advance for arming themselves and also arms for Ukraine. The US is not delivering those weapons, and also seizing the money already paid for weapons never to be delivered. No trust left for the US.
