@jyn_urso You really should try living in an islamist country before thinking you know anything of what it's like to live there and what westerners can constructively do about it. Peak cognitive dissonance.

Real answer These people have crafted their entire identities around a bitcoin ideology that presupposes bitcoins ontological perfection. Any attempts to change it or point out issues is heresy. Anyone that asks questions is an outsider no matter how long they have been a bitcoiner. Anyone who disturbs the balance must be doing so for impure financial reasons like shitcoining etc. They would truthfully rather that Bitcoin fail entirely than admit they were wrong. @Cloudwatch199 It's not the American dream if they just siphon the cash off back to India... Why should citizens be subject to the law while immigrants are able to operate in the grey area?

Sara Gonzales confronted an H-1B tech worker at his wife's food truck like she caught a criminal. Let me get this straight — this man works a full-time tech job, pays taxes, and his wife started a small business that serves the local community and probably employs Americans. His wife runs it. He helps after his 9-5. He doesn't get paid. Is there a technical gray area in immigration law about helping at a spouse's business? Yes. Immigration lawyers can debate where the line is. But this is an immigrant family creating jobs, serving their neighbors, and contributing to the local economy. This is the American dream in action. And instead of recognizing that, Why should one show up with cameras to turn a hardworking family into rage bait.

it's not a cherry picked list, I'm being as comprehensive as humanly possible and I lay out my criteria in the article. obviously it's subjective but I did the best I could based on my knowledge and 10 years following this space full time. I'm not going to accept a situation where you have to call up a dev to get their perspective on a critical matter, nor is that practical for me or anyone else. they should freely share this with the public or recuse themselves entirely. there are a trillion dollars at stake. you can't accept the responsibility of stewarding a protocol while keeping your views on the most important technical debate private. barring public statements on the mailing list or on here, i will continue to assume the vast majority of these people are not concerned, and act accordingly.

Trump is bored with the war. The warm weather is here. It’s time to focus on more important things, like cleaning the pool. Yet Americans (and thousands of others) had to die. For what? It’s a disgrace.

1. it's not me versus you. it's you versus google, dan boneh, craig gidney (if you followed quantum, which you don't you'd know the name). good luck 2. you don't get time to "wait and see". quantum progress is discrete and nonlinear, which you'd know, if you had read the google paper, which you haven't. x.com/nic_carter/sta…

The State of the Iran War: "Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!" So, we start an I'll conceived War, Iran closes the Strait as a result, there's chaos in the Oil markets, Strait is still closed, and we just told the World: GFY.

The state of the Iran War: "... President Trump told aides he’s willing to end the U.S. military campaign against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed..." There was never a plan, he's lied constantly and now he's just saying things to see how markets react.

🚨 BREAKING: Sec. Marco Rubio just dropped TRUTH NUKES on the doubters for two minutes straight, and he said it perfectly He's so good at this. "Under NO circumstances can a country run by radical Shia clerics with an apocalyptic vision of the future ever possess nuclear weapons, and under no circumstances can they be allowed to hide and protect that program and their ambitions behind a shield of missiles and drones that no one can do anything about!" "Many Americans are asking, why did the United States have to attack Iran now? Well, let me EXPLAIN." "Iran wants to have nuclear weapons...they build their reactors and their facilities deep in mountains, away from the public glare, and they want to enrich that material." "Why the attack now? Well, what was Iran trying to do? Iran was trying to build a conventional shield, in essence, have so many missiles, have so many drones, that no one could attack them, and they were well on their way." "We were on the verge of an Iran that had so many missiles and so many drones, that no one could do anything about their nuclear weapons program in the future. That was an intolerable risk." "This was our LAST best chance to eliminate that conventional threat, that conventional shield that they were trying to build, and the president made the right decision to wipe it out now." "That is the goal of this operation, to destroy their conventional missiles and their drone program so they can't hide behind it, and finally have to deal with a world seriously about never ever having nuclear weapons." WELL SAID, MARCO 🇺🇸

I know this is going to sound alarmist but at some point, we as humanity have to come together and ban the use of drones in warfare. They are an existential threat to humanity on or exceeding the same level of chemical and biological weapons because of just how mass producible and automated they can become. In the past few years we were lucky that they still required some human operation to maintain flight, navigational control and were limited in range. With AI things have changed. Automated navigation, longer ranges, AI driven guidance to targets that doesn't require GPS or a connection to operators. My biggest fear is that one day someone puts these things on a ship and launches them in waves at cities. Look at the situation in the Dubai, Qatar, Kiev, Moscow, Tehran, Tel Aviv etc... Now imagine these things flying over New York, LA, Washington DC, Beijing, Tokyo, Rio, Seol, Paris, Mumbai, Hong Kong etc... We came together as humanity to ban the use of Chemical and Biological weapons after WW1. We need to come together again and ban the use of these things ASAP.

@nic_carter Appreciate your work on this. Doesn't every user have to migrate for this to be effective. What would happen to Satoshi's coins? The risk is we do not enable PQ addresses before Q-Day and you can’t trust any of the signatures used in the migration transactions.

FT: A broker for Pete Hegseth, the US defence secretary, attempted to make a big investment in major defence companies in the weeks leading up to the US-Israeli attack on Iran, according to three people familiar with the matter… The investment discussed by Hegseth’s broker did not ultimately go ahead as the fund, which launched in May last year, was not yet available for Morgan Stanley clients to buy.

Read between the lines. Ukraine does not have an independent defense industrial base that Saudi Arabia needs. Ukraine's defense capabilities right now are almost entirely a function of what NATO countries, primarily the US and Europe, have poured into it. The weapons Ukraine manufactures domestically, like drones and certain missile systems, are useful but they are not what Saudi Arabia is after in a strategic defense agreement. What Ukraine does have is relationships, technology transfer pipelines, and an entry point into European defense procurement networks that Saudi Arabia cannot easily access by going directly to, say, France or Germany. Because those deals come with political strings attached around human rights, Yemen, and so on. So when MBS signs a defense agreement with Ukraine, what he is actually doing in structural terms is opening a side door into the European and broader Western MIC without going through the US, and in effect, isolating it. That is the move. Like I have been saying. This Iran "war" is the recalibration door the US has opened for new contracts. But for others. Not for itself.
Mykhailo Rohoza@MykhailoRohoza

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, on behalf of Donald Trump, expressed regret that the Saudi authorities signed defense agreements with Ukraine without consulting the United States, which had been Saudi Arabia’s main ally. In response, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman noted that the U.S. had failed to fully protect the Kingdom from Iranian strikes, and therefore Saudi Arabia made a decision that could quickly strengthen its defense capabilities. The Crown Prince also stated that his country will continue to be guided by its own national interests when making decisions regarding its defense. This was a slap in the face to Trump from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in response to Trump’s crude and scandalous public statement that “…now let the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia kiss my ass and be polite to me from now on.” Thus, Trump’s reckless and irresponsible remarks have effectively put U.S.–Saudi relations on pause. The Saudi Crown Prince proved to be more diplomatic than the American president and, notably, did not respond to Rubio by saying that Trump should “kiss my ass” and behave politely toward him in the future 😉
