#WATCH | Panchkula: On increasing cases of cyber fraud, Haryana DGP OP Singh says, "The first major achievement is that we have addressed cyber fraud. Now, everyone knows that by calling 1930, the complaint will be registered on the MHA website, which is connected to all the banks. We have a call centre of about 70 people who assist citizens in submitting their complaints and blocking the defrauded money... This year, around 1,20,000 complaints were received from January to October. Out of these, approximately Rs 550 crore was defrauded. We successfully blocked Rs 200 crore because the victims reported the fraud within 2-5 hours... Digital arrest has received significant publicity. But if we look at it, out of the total 1,20,000, only 0.35% or around 120 are cases of digital arrest. But the amount that goes into it is quite big... Whenever people get a phone call like this, they should call 1930..."
Regarding high alert situation after Delhi Blast, he says, "It's clearly a high alert. Similar to interstate border checks, all residential areas where people stay, their check-ins, along with hotels, buses, abandoned vehicles, parking lots, and thousands of police officers and officials work tirelessly day and night... Consequently, we quickly identified and apprehended all the suspects, achieving significant success."
