PWHL Expansion News: The PWHL and PWHLPA were supposed to have a meeting today re: expansion. The league has postponed that meeting until tomorrow.

I asked Gina Kingsbury how she looks back at the Ella Shelton trade and if it had the impact she expected on the Sceptres this season. Here's her full answer: "You look back at all the decisions you make as a GM, and there's never a black and white answer from it. We don't go with that trade, we've got Casey O’Brien, who's had a great season, obviously very offensive player. You may say, 'Okay, we'll have more offense.' We wouldn’t have had the strong defense that I think we had this year. Troy alluded to Kirk coming in and doing really, really well. There's also a really good core of D in front of her as well. It all kind of impacts everyone's performance and the performance in general. Pretty hard to predict if we don't make that trade what it looks like. We gain somewhere, but we give up somewhere else. Obviously, Casey O'Brien - we knew she was gonna have a great season, we knew the type of player we were passing up for Ella. But Ella brings a whole lot of elements as well. I think as media and as public, oftentimes, you just look at the numbers and compare and determine if it's good decisions or not based on points. There are so many other elements that come into play. I can't tell you it was a good choice, I can't tell you it was a bad choice. It was a decision that we made that we are gonna live with. We've benefitted from it, and obviously, we passed up on some elements we would've loved to have down this stretch. I think it's my job to evaluate that and critique it, but also understand that there's so many different elements that come with it to not get too caught up on some things that one angle, cause there's many angles to look at."
