Conservatives regularly accuse NPR of having a "liberal bias" but the truth is that reality has an anti-conservative bias. Simply reporting on the facts of the world is the surest way to dismantle the racist, paranoid, plutocratic assumptions that form the nucleus of the right-wing worldview. When you believe that climate change is a Chinese hoax and that Donald Trump is an upstanding Christian gentleman, neutral reporting starts to look left-wing. Although these donations are incredibly welcome, we can't rely solely on private benefactors to keep NPR afloat. When Democrats retake power, we must pump funding back into NPR and PBS — not only restoring what they once received, but increasing it.
