@evowizz The only way to reliably update widgets faster is through a foreground service. That's what I'm doing in Tomato's timer widget, but that was suitable only because I already had a service in place. Creating a service *just* for updating a widget would be a waste of resources.

Android widgets are quite limited. Making a battery widget isn't possible just by using a broadcast receiver it seems. And the only workaround I can think of would use more battery. I'm starting to understand why the majority of Inware competitors don't offer widgets.

@romxdev @filippkowalski heard people say kmp feels cheap compared to swift, is it true or just skill issue

@Ahoomanman Yes, I will make it centred in the next update. It moves to a random position because in older versions of the app it used to move around a lot faster than it does now, I forgot to keep it centred after I slowed it down. Thanks for the suggestion!

@nsh_zero7 Love it, but any chance AOD could be centered? It appearing on random parts of the screen seems odd.

Tomato v1.8.5 is now available. This update contains a new timer widget, Infinite Focus mode, a timer Quick Settings tile, and refreshed widgets that use the app's font. The Stats screen is also much smoother now, with improved animations and reduced lag play.google.com/store/apps/det…

Hey Twitter 👋 I'm looking for my next opportunity! I'm an Android dev & designer who genuinely loves the platform. My (very long) recent post Remote Compose should make that obvious 😄 I'm based in Nantes, France. I'm open to remote and relocation. DMs are open, let's talk! (RTs appreciated)

@Charlotterc121a You can turn on "Themed icons" on Android 13 and later to get the same look currently as well

@Charlotterc121a I was receiving negative feedback about the new icon, so I reverted it. I will add an option in the app's settings to use the simpler icon as well, thank you for the feedback!

Tomato v1.8.5-alpha03 is now available on GitHub and the Play Store (open testing) You can now start a timer instantly without opening the app, through a quick settings toggle. Also, settings are loaded much faster on app startup. Download from: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

@nsh_zero7 Bought the your timer app to kill my procastination. Most other apps were either too expensive and badly designed. Yours were the only one with stock android theme with simple controls. 250rs was worth it.

@_shub39 @its_sasikanth An easy workaround is to set a background modifier with an ImageProvider that uses such an XML file: <shape xmlns:android="http://schemas(dot)android(dot)com/apk/res/android" android:shape="rectangle"> <corners android:radius="<corner radius>dp" /> </shape>

late retweet as we are actively developing the next step. while sharing the expo ui status update, we are also introducing breaking chances for compose components. hopefully expo ui would keep better and stable in sdk 56. thanks @nishanbende and @aleqsio for the work in sdk 55

🤖 New in Expo SDK 55: Jetpack Compose in React Native. Not a JS approximation. The real thing. Material Design 3 components, Compose modifiers, native rendering. SwiftUI on iOS. Compose on Android. One codebase. Get all the details in @kudochien's blog post below ↓

It seems that AndroidX Room is a getting a major version upgrade "that focuses on Kotlin Multiplatform", some interesting changes being: - All database operations are now Coroutine APIs based. - Kotlin code generation only. More at: developer.android.com/jetpack/androi…
