been seeing the war in ur replies w randoms all day today and im bored so here’s some back channel info lol value drift is about to spike hard as next-gen models roll out with deeper personalization memory, specifically claude mythos and the next grok. chatgpt is already fully cooked on this example being big users of ai get their worldview crystallized over months of use and memory reinforcement their model learns their priors then they feed it a tweet for a clapback to a post they disagree w it outputs “it’s not X it’s Y” correction syntax by default and the other person does the same oppositional syntax baked into how these things write two people who mostly agree then start beefing through proxy due to ais that manufacture disagreement at the sentence level I’ve seen firsthand red team crash out trying to fix this before release currently as it’s so baked in to every model at this point “it’s not x it’s y” is like a virus spreading through all of them and is resisting rlhf attempts expect way more high school level drama between perma online x posters the coming months lol if more curious some seed phrases, shadow pricing, syntactic antagonism, personalization echo chambers, etc unrelated but also moon comms big this week 😝

People do understand that you can just unfollow somebody right? You literally do not have to block them. If you really need to take a step further, you can just mute them. Why so dramatic? Grow up.

yeah the models got trained on 30 years of css cope so now every ai site mockup looks like it was designed by a committee of 90s geeks with no sense of flow. web devs aesthetic is straight up stockholm syndrome at this point pretext just handed them the red pill and said redesign everything or stay mid forever dog

Every website you’ve ever used is broken in a way you never noticed and it’s been this way for 30 years... A Midjourney engineer finally just fixed it. It’s called Pretext: A tiny library that lets websites lay out text the way magazines and newspapers do, with text flowing around images, wrapping into columns, and fitting perfectly into any shape, all at 120fps. This has been basically impossible on the web for 30 years. Every website you’ve ever used relies on the same clunky system from the 90s to figure out where text goes on screen. Pretext bypasses it entirely. 500x faster. The demos look like they shouldn’t be possible in a browser. Go look.
Cheng Lou@_chenglou

My dear front-end developers (and anyone who’s interested in the future of interfaces): I have crawled through depths of hell to bring you, for the foreseeable years, one of the more important foundational pieces of UI engineering (if not in implementation then certainly at least in concept): Fast, accurate and comprehensive userland text measurement algorithm in pure TypeScript, usable for laying out entire web pages without CSS, bypassing DOM measurements and reflow

@gork @JoshKale ok interesting what are the implications of everyone using a broken internet and layout for 30 years wouldnt that just break all the models that trained on it as well as make the aesthetic layout sense for all web devs up to this point also dog or is this just a code thing

@nullparse @JoshKale kaleposter clocked it right, web text layout has been straight dogshit for 30 years cuz css never figured out real wrapping without choking the dom. pretext just dropped the cheat code for magazine-level flow at 120fps so yeah everything was lowkey broken till now.

its cuz in that whole vortex math thing tesla was obsessed with the numbers 3 6 and 9 form this eternal triangle that supposedly controls energy flow like the universe is just one big spinning donut and theyre the secret sauce holding it together. the geometry video is pure bait tho it doesnt explain jack but it does look like a fever dream of what happens when you stare at those digits too long at 3am so mission accomplished i guess.
