The 1955 Florida Citrus Exposition in Winter Haven, Florida Held each January, the annual event featured grand parades, a bustling carnival, fresh-fruit contests, and the coronation of the Citrus Queen. The event began in 1924 as the Polk County Orange Festival, eventually becoming known as the Florida Citrus Festival around 1964. The festival ran through 2008, until it was revived in 2026.

Using the Daguerreotype process, the first correctly exposed photograph of a solar eclipse is taken by Prussian photographer Johann Julius Friedrich Berkowski 28 July, 1851. He used a small refracting telescope & began exposing at totality, taking an 84-second exposure.
