@Alverd_Dralshya oh i understand what they’re going for - i just don’t think it’s landed well. it’s not just a shift in tone - it’s questionable writing, ugly costume/set design, cartoonish performances from supporting cast… i’m excited to see the rest too, i just hope it’s not more of the same

@partyfears_ if it starts frenetic and disjointed it's perfect because that is EXACTLY the tone the book sets out the gate. And its chaotic contrast to the more somber melancholy tony of interview is what makes both books so spectacular together. Im so fucking excited to see the rest.

THIS is what’s been missing. louis is the inimitable beating heart of the show and that’s only becoming more evident as s3 progresses. his snippets of screen time are an emotional anchor in what’s otherwise been a frenetic & disjointed start to the season

highlight of the entire show. i said it then and i’m saying it now, nothing is ever topping this scene. the score, the writing, the performances… stripped back, no glitz and glamour, just a parent’s guilt and grief in the back of a truck. the heart of it all. real fucking cinema

it makes me sad that no one was truly and completely on louis' side bc what do you mean dr fareed ditched him for lestat and rashid works at the talamasca

sam’s acting does improve the scenes that would otherwise be completely god awful… this is also why i find it frustrating and spineless for rolin to try and put the onus of people hating the season on him and daniel. sam made the best of YOUR bad writing.

rolin jones calling this scene “too neat” when it’s one of the greatest endings to a character’s arc in history he can cry to a wall about it
