The Nano Button is now finished! - 2,992,007,593 total clicks - 4,131 XNO given away for free (~$2,000) - 379,823 on chain transactions, 0 fees, and most transactions confirmed in less than 0.5 seconds - 1.36 M unique visitors - 363.57M requests It was a lot of fun scaling the app and fighting against all the bots. I hope this has helped many people become interested in Nano. Thank you all for participating. Follow @TheNanoButton and enable notification to get notified of the next event.

We're now at $1,000 distributed for free. Peak at 6k simultaneously connected users. The vast majority of withdrawals were completed and confimed in less than a second. During withdrawals peak hours, some users might have waited a few seconds because of my GPU overloaded.

With XNO (Nano), transactions confirm in ~0.2 seconds on average and are completely feeless—total fees: $0, always. For sending $1 to ~8B people (8B tx), at realistic sustained network capacity of 400–1,000+ TPS (per tests/docs), it would take roughly 3–6 months. Scalable with more nodes/hardware, unlike BTC's years + billions in fees. Mission accomplished for actual P2P cash!

@bennybigbull I wonder what technical improvements they've got in the pipeline that make them think these targets are achievable in 1-3 years. Even the recent (unverified) Donut Lab solid state battery claims don't go this far 🤔 Anyone else & I'd be skeptical, but Ampx has been delivering...

Two additional points I forgot to mention. Low fees today ≠ Low fees tomorrow Fee-based networks bait users with cheap transactions during low adoption, then extract once they're locked in. Dynamic fee models guarantee this. Network congestion drives auction mechanics. Block space becomes scarce. Users bid for priority. A $0.01 fee becomes $20. Ethereum gas spikes. Bitcoin mempool backlogs. We've already seen daily averages on Bitcoin surpass $130/tx. This isn't a bug. It's the intended design. Fee markets require scarcity, and scarcity intensifies with adoption. Fees = Complexity for developers Developers bear the hidden cost. Fee estimation APIs. Gas price oracles. Retry logic. Transaction replacement strategies. An entire engineering subdomain exists solely to manage fee volatility. Code that should handle payments instead handles auction dynamics. Nano removes this entirely. No fee estimation. No congestion pricing. A transaction costs the same at capacity as during quiet periods: nothing. Developers build with confidence that next year's economics match today's. Dynamic fees aren't a feature. They're a liability dressed as market efficiency. Zero is constant.

@Texas_Herd @jamestalarico "The poll was conducted just before the start of early voting, which began on Feb. 17... The survey also took place before Talarico got a boost of momentum last week from the national controversy surrounding his appearance on CBS’s “Late Show” with Stephen Colbert."

Published today in the Texas Tribune. The latest UT poll shows Crockett with a double-digit lead: 56% to Talarico's 44%. A significant shift from earlier polls that had them virtually tied. Talarico's campaign and supporting PACs have spent more than $15 million compared to Crockett's nearly $3 million... he's massively outspending her and still falling behind. Money isn't saving him.

"Most cryptocurrencies recreate the exact problem they claimed to solve" BINGO
MJ@atxmj

Low fees ≠ Zero fees Nano having zero fees isn't a gimmick. Most cryptocurrencies recreate the exact problem they claimed to solve. They pay miners and validators through transaction fees and inflationary subsidies, effectively installing new middlemen who siphon value from every transaction. Bitcoin miners. Ethereum validators. They're rent collectors with better branding. This incentive structure doesn't protect the network. It centralizes it. Mining pools consolidate power. Large validators dominate stake. The system pays a privileged class to exist, and everyday users fund them through fees and diluted holdings. The accessibility consequences are real. When fees exist, small transactions become irrational. A $0.50 payment with a $0.30 fee doesn't work. This creates an accessibility floor where micropayments, tipping, and small merchants in developing economies get priced out entirely. The search results consistently show transaction costs are a primary barrier to financial inclusion for the 1.7 billion unbanked adults worldwide. Nano eliminates this extraction model entirely. No block rewards. No transaction fees. No inflation tax eroding your balance. The Open Representative Voting mechanism secures the network without paying participants because the actual cost of voting is negligible. Representatives don't need subsidies to do minimal computational work. When you remove fee incentives, you remove the incentive to centralize. No one competes to collect transaction revenue. No one builds mining cartels to capture block rewards. The accessibility benefits compound. No minimum transaction size. No cross-border premiums. No merchant fees eating thin margins. Traditional finance extracts through interchange fees. Most crypto extracts through mining rewards and validator fees. Different packaging. Same economic drain. A zero fee network proves those mechanisms were never necessary. Just another layer of rent-seeking that survives because people assume it must be there for a reason. It isn't.

@PirateLawyerMD @allthatyazzz @ninaturner @adamscochran I don't think I've ever met a candidate that I 100% agreed with morally, have you? Maybe it's because I'm black & grew up poor (public housing + food stamps), but I can't wait for a morally perfect candidate. I'll always take smaller pragmatic policies over idealism/perfection

Talarico not progressive? Wtf are you talking about? Do you not know what the word 'progressive' means Nina?! He wants to: * Ban SuperPACs * Is Pro-choice, and wants to codify Roe v Wade * Automatic voter registration * Ban partisan judicial elections * Require paid family leave * Raise the min wage * Capped insulin prices in Texas Senate * Every American to be able to join Medicare * Expand the ACA * Bar medical debt from credit scores * Raise taxes on billionaires * End the buy, borrow, die tax loophole * Increase the the tax on capital gains * Raise the corporate tax rate * Eliminate the carried interest tax loophole on hedge funds * Raise the tax on stock buy backs * Cap CEO wages at 250x the employee median * Block corporate landlords * Establish universal pre-K * Fund a headstart preschool program nationally * Expand the national School Lunch and School Breakfast programs * Prosecute ICE * Expand US asylum program * Legalize marijuana * Expand labor union protections * Ban the sale of offensive weapons to Israel Him not supporting two policies the exact same way you do, doesn't mean he isn't progressive. Also claiming he doesn't support an arms embargo when he flat out says he wants to ban the sale of any weapon that isn't *strictly* a defensive system is bs. For example the Iron Dome can *ONLY* be used to shoot down incoming missiles and has no way of being used to fire on people. So that is an arms embargo of weapons.
Nina Turner@ninaturner

What’s dangerous about someone like Talarico is that he’s not progressive on policy. Doesn’t support single payer or an arms embargo, yet progressives are championing him. What can’t happen is progressives being fooled by rhetoric and marketing.

@PirateLawyerMD @allthatyazzz @ninaturner @adamscochran Besides, Talarico has already passed meaningful legislation that helps address parts of our situation in Texas (mental health funding, pre-k size limits, insulin caps, coursework for suspended students, cheaper medication imports, etc). I'll take more of those wins any day

@PirateLawyerMD @allthatyazzz @ninaturner @adamscochran Which of his policies are bad? In my experience, revolutions that give you your full wishlist are extremely rare. Usually we get progress through incremental changes over time Especially in Texas, where you can't win without also appealing across the aisle

Email made communication instant, free & borderless, however money still works like a 1980s postal service. 1.3 billion people are locked out currently and by 2050, 1.2 billion climate displaced people will be needing to move money across borders with nothing but their phone. The tools to fix this already exist. Zero fees. Under half a second and using less energy than a Google search. The question isn't who needs an alternative to broken banking infrastructure. It is who doesn't. George Coxon has written an article for @Ecohustler - read it here 👇 🔗 ecohustler.com/technology/wha…
