@maraganger Twitter DMs are so busted. It randomly wants you to verify to check your DMs, but it doesn't tell you and if you don't verify, it doesn't notify you when people DM you. At least not for me. I have messages from people weeks to months ago that I just never saw.

The craziest thing ever happened on YouTube. La7, an Italian television channel has used footage from Nvidia DLSS 5 Trailer and then sent a copyright strike to every YouTube video that supposedly used “their footage”, including Nvidia themselves. Nvidia’s own DLSS 5 announcement video has now been taken down by La7 as you can see here.

@pauseandselect I actually re-watched this a couple months ago. It’s a great show, and while there’s a lot I can say about it, I think one of the many aspects about it that works is that the show takes the time to interrogate its own ideas and premise.

Chobits concerns several characters whose lives are affected by the Persocoms. It's about a world where, despite most people seeing these objects as computers, others see them as women, and how different forms of relationality begin to shape their lives.

@haydensbakery In Chobits, the conflict is the guy can't fuck the robot girl without destroying her moë purity. Lain begins with a teenager committing suicide, kicking off a surreal journey into the blurring between the real and the digital. I don't think they are that comparable

I also think Chobits is way more concerned about digitality than Lain; Lain is much more focused on infrastructure, especially (what feels to me) to be the ambient, occluding, atmospheric infrastructure of television and radio waves (which is why it gives off such denpa vibes).

And honestly I prefer it to Lain because it doesn't try to engender or suss at me. I like stories that feel very non-artistic or non-theoretical but end up having a lot of things to suggest.
