This is not uniquely South African and fools are preaching nonsense here. Starting in December 2025, Zimbabwe has implemented new regulations (Statutory Instrument 215 of 2025) that heavily restrict foreign nationals from running small, everyday businesses, requiring them to cede 75% ownership to local citizens within three years Tanzania: Effective July 2025, Tanzania barred non-citizens from 15 major business sectors. Prohibited Activities: Mobile money transfer, beauty salons (unless in hotels), retail shops, tour guiding, phone repairs, and on-farm crop purchasing. Ghana: Under the GIPC Act of 2013, certain activities are strictly reserved for Ghanaian citizens. Reserved Sectors: Petty trading (market stalls/hawking), taxi and car hire services, beauty salons, and barber shops.
