CORRUPTION THRIVES IN THE DARK.
Today in a 55-22 vote (with THIRTEEN Republican absences) the House passed HB 410 (Schlegel) that makes it illegal for investigative journalists to record the very backroom deals that define political corruption.
They say it's about "privacy," but since when do public officials get privacy while discussing OUR business? I’m demanding the Senate adopt this amendment: No public official has a reasonable expectation of privacy when it comes to public business: REGARDLESS OF WHERE IT HAPPENS.
The Senate must protect the light, not the crooks.
