In 2012, even President Obama had to show a photo I.D. to vote. The SAVE America Act requires two things: 1. Show proof of citizenship to register to vote 2. Show a photo I.D. to vote Plain and simple. It's just common sense.

@SenEricSchmitt @SenateGOP During the last Presidential election I was in the hospital. I voted by mail There was no “holdover Covid-election-fever-dream” involved. We are all still here. Everything went smoothly. Your guy won. There is no reason for the SAVE Act except to make it harder to vote.

We are going to vote in person again. Mass mail voting is not some ancient inheritance of the American republic. In its current form, it is a modern phenomenon and in many places a direct holdover from the COVID-election-fever-dream. COVID is over. Pass the SAVE America Act.

Republicans are working hard to get the SAVE America Act to the President’s desk. It is just common sense to ensure only American citizens can vote and use a  a photo ID when they do. Even 70% of Democrats across the country agree. But Senate Democrats are trying to block it.
