The Baylor Bears have not been ranked for a single week in any of the past three seasons. The last day they were ranked was September 30th, 2022 (Week 5) before losing to Oklahoma State and dropping out of the poll. From 2013-2022, Baylor was a routine part of the Top 25, ranked at some point in 7 seasons during that span and reached the Top 10 in all 7 of those. They were in the BCS National Championship hunt late in 2013, and were in the CFP race during the 2014, 2015, 2019, and 2021 seasons. Will 2026 finally be the year that the Bears, with new quarterback DJ Lagway, get back in the national spotlight/Top 25? They kickoff the upcoming season with a massive neutral site matchup with Auburn in Week 1 where they can make an opening statement.

I am grateful to the NBPA for advocating on my behalf and to the NBA for their fair decision. It was so important to me to be present for the birth of my daughter in December and I appreciate Mark, Jeanie, Rob, JJ, and the entire Lakers organization for fully supporting me and allowing me to travel to be there. This season has been so special to me because of what my teammates and I have been able to accomplish, and I am honored to have the opportunity to be considered for the league’s end-of-season awards.

Don’t forget God when you get what you have been praying for.
