@Testergxe @JoshEberley I agree, Brunson should definitely be considered a Top 25 Guard of All-Time

@schimax @JoshEberley That’s what I am saying. Brunson should be top 25 all time then but they just use Brunson has a way to push agendas against players they don’t like

I have not until this moment contemplated the idea of “remembering guys” from USMNT history. That being said: Steve Cherundolo

@AmericanNumbers Do you think water breaks have completely neutralized the travel/heat/age effects that were touted pre-tourney. Maybe we see those effects later in the groups and knockouts?

I would consider pressing more on counters and using every break to deploy a fresh pair of legs up front. So play faster. Deploy a full set of subs on the last quarter.
Cruel Angel PHD🇵🇷@AmericanNumbers

My actual hot take analysis is that the structural changes to the world cup matches with the water breaks is blunting the effect of possession tactics since you are limited in the amount of pressure you can bring and conversely helping counters.

@ArtemisTheVoice @liana_florist Giants fan? Sorry about that lol I'm a Packers fan, but I genuinely like Caleb as a guy and really liked him as a prospect. I think the Bears might regress a little bit (defense might come back to earth a little), but I think they're in good hands w/ Caleb and Ben Johnson.

@schimax @liana_florist For sure but I think Caleb gets hate because of non football reasons tho. The nail painting n shit. So people look for stuff to nitpick at. I’m a giants fan by the way but he (Caleb) is really good. Indiana Bears could make some noise next year

@schimax @liana_florist Caleb had an AMAZING TD throw!!! But nah no comparison one player can have a way bigger effect in basketball than football

@liana_florist @ArtemisTheVoice Mediocre for 3Q, elite in the 4th Q: Jalen Brunson, the Caleb Williams of basketball (...if the rest of the Bears roster were better)

@ArtemisTheVoice @schimax @JoshEberley Quarter scoring. Cool he was mid compared to the rest at everything else, even scoring he was less efficient to put up a similar amount of points overall

@ArtemisTheVoice Yeah, that's probably about right. 2009 Kobe is probably right around the 10th best Finals MVP performance of the last 20 years, probably somewhere between 8th and 11th.

@schimax So Kobe should be in the bottom half of the finals too….if it’s similar or are you gonna do more mental gymnastics

@ArtemisTheVoice Bottom 1/2 Finals MVP of last 20 yrs, not the worst The counting stats ARE similar, but Kobe's performance was slightly better: fewer TOs, more rebs, slightly better defense, a better playoff On/Off split, & Lakers roster wasn't nearly as deep as Knicks. Similar, but still worse.

@schimax @JoshEberley So his offense and defense are similar to 09 Kobe if Jalen is the worst FMVP of the last 20 years does that make 09 Kobe the second worst?

@ArtemisTheVoice @JoshEberley I agree with you that his simple counting stats are similar to 09 Kobe. According to DRAPM (or "estimated defensive +/- per 100 poss"), Brunson is the worst playoff defender of the last 20 years to win Finals MVP (-1.9pts per100). 2009 Kobe was -1.5pts per 100, slightly better.

@schimax @JoshEberley You on the other hand can’t in a simple tweet say why you think he isn’t. You go to Timbuktu and back to find all types of hogwash when you yourself already agreed that yea his performance was pretty similar to 09 Kobe lmaoo

@ArtemisTheVoice @JoshEberley We can go round & round here. I've given you Game Score, RAPM, counting stats, etc. I've given you better defensive metrics than dFG% I can give you better offensive metrics, too, but if a Finals performance to you is just counting stats & 4thQ scoring, then this is waste of time

@schimax @JoshEberley It’s absolutely superstar stuff lmaooo but you’re all over the place dude it’s okay. We established over an hour ago Jalen numbers are on par with 09Kobe. Everything you been doing since then is mental gymnastics. That’s why you can’t say what qualifiers your using

@ArtemisTheVoice @JoshEberley Jalen Brunson in the "clutch" in the 2026 NBA Finals (Score within 5pts in the last 5min in the 4thQ or OT): 8/21 from the field 4/10 from 3 4/5 from the FT line 38% from the field isn't exactly superstar stuff

@ArtemisTheVoice @JoshEberley Another one: Every single Finals MVP from before also had a better average BballRef Game Score in their respective finals. I promise you there are better, more explanatory stats out there than per-game counting stats.

@ArtemisTheVoice @JoshEberley Brunson had the worst Playoff DRAPM of any NYK player who played in the playoffs (-1.9 pts/100). In fact, he was the worst defender of any player who played >240min in the playoffs. The only other Finals MVP on that list to have a Playoff DRAPM below -0.5 pts/100 was Kobe in 2009

@schimax @JoshEberley Sure that’s cool but what can you point to that shows that other than vibes? Cause the Knicks were the best defensive team in the playoffs this year and Brunson had a better dFG% than even Wemby. And again what constitutes “better” FMVP to you? Is it just bigger name?

@ArtemisTheVoice @JoshEberley All of those players are better defenders than Brunson, an effect that most counting stats don't accurately capture. ie: Kawhi averaged the same # of steals in 2019, but you'd be crazy to suggest that Brunson and Kawhi had similar defensive performances in their respective finals

@schimax @JoshEberley What are you counting as better because Jalen avg as many or more points as every you listed except Giannis n KD, as many or more ast as SGA, Kobe n Curry and more steals than anyone except LeBron and only a few of them got it done in 5……
