As a Singaporean, I disagree. Singapore may be the most developed country in SouthEast Asia... But we are still a SouthEast Asian country. We are not special just because we achieved a lot of things. We should not ask for privileges from other regions or distance ourselves from our neighbours. If people do not want to interact with the whole of SEA, so be it. We cannot take the SEA out of us, so we should be proud of it. At least we are not in South Asia LOL (This is not a post about being "haolian" (arrogant); this is about being proud of our SEA heritage as Singaporeans. You can disagree with me and be civil with me about it, but any misinterpretations or disrespect will be blocked)

The British got started in India via trade and business then got into politics. Indians are doing the same thing.
