Most of us say we want to think for ourselves. But our behavior suggests we’d rather let machines do the thinking.

Turn experience into ideas, show up consistently without becoming generic, and that will scale originality instead of flattening it.

People write their raw thoughts on Reddit. LLMs train on Reddit. People now use LLMs to write Reddit comments. Future LLMs will train on those comments. At some point the internet stops being human knowledge and starts becoming AI-generated feedback loops.

@electionsjoe The technology positioned as a tool for optimizing human labor may itself be asked to prove productivity, value, and strategic relevance.

This race to automate everything is getting ridiculous. At what point does a company realize that pissing off customers, damaging its reputation, and diminishing the quality of its products is not a brilliant strategy?

@Polymarket The AI arms race may have reached the stage where participants can no longer evaluate it solely on ROI because the perceived cost of not participating has become existential.

pretty shitty how baseline human activities like singing, dancing and making art got turned into skills instead of being seen as behaviors so now it's like 'the point of doing them is to get good at them' and not 'this is a thing humans do, the way birds sing and bees make hives.

And I am a realist who understands computing and AI deeply, having worked in the field for over five decades - where I continue to work - both witnessing the changes as well as inventing things that made those changes possible. AI is useful. But I’m certain AI will not do 80% of the economically valuable work humans do today, for 80% of all jobs.
Vinod Khosla@vkhosla

I'm a technology optimist. I’ve spent four decades studying disruptive innovation, from the microprocessor, the internet, mobile phones to OpenAI. I'm certain AI will do 80% of the economically valuable work humans do today, for 80% of all jobs, faster than most believe. The question isn't whether mass underemployment arrives, but whether we have a policy framework ready. Right now we don't.

Now that people just prompt LLMs they no longer treat coding as a craft and stopped caring about building something great.

@TheEconomist Yes, we will believe anything, and these guys know it. We need to ask more questions and start thinking for ourselves. It's our fault. It's on us. They will push until they can't push anymore.

Imagine if one day they actually looked at their accounts and decided they finally had enough. Imagine they looked at the data- youth depression, economic anxiety, and decided they didn't need the next billion badly enough to keep pushing the metrics that cause it. They could still keep their homes, yachts, planes, and have billions to spare. Imagine they spent the fortune healing the social fabric instead of walling themselves off from it.

I don't want a For You Page catered to me. I want to learn, to be challenged, to see new angles, to discover, to grow. Virtually all platforms used to offer this, and now they're all moving in the opposite direction. I'm so BORED online.

One of the things you learn as a seasoned founder is that your customers are your most important design team. There is always the product you think you're building. Then there is the product your customers tell you they actually love.
