In this article in the @gazettebw, SALC’s Bradley Fortuin highlights that #Botswana’s health cooperation Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. under the America First Global Health Strategy is, below the surface about data sharing, surveillance and locking a sovereign public-health function into U.S. strategic architecture. In 2019, Botswana made history by decriminalising consensual same-sex relationships. But six years later, has the law change translated into real safety and dignity for LGBTIQ+ people? Decriminalisation was a milestone, not the finish line. 🌈✊ Read more: genderlinks.org.za/knowledge-hub/…

I was in Nigeria recently for African Pride Accelerated #APA2025, and I returned with a special gift ❤️, the Continental Solidarity Award, presented by the Women’s Health and Equal Rights Initiative (WHER). This recognition is special to me because it was more than an award. It reaffirmed that cross-border collaboration and solidarity remain central to all African communities' fight for equality, dignity, and health. APA 2025 was a powerful reminder that despite shrinking resources, our movements are sustained by resilience, community care, and joy. From intergenerational dialogues to spontaneous acts of solidarity, this convening embodied building together across nations, struggles, and identities. I deeply appreciate @AkudoOguaghamba and #WHER Nigeria for hosting this transformative space and to all the partners and communities whose unwavering commitment continues to fuel Africa’s equality movement. We will always rise stronger, connected, and unafraid. #APA2025 #SolidarityInAction #QueerJoy #PanAfricanUnity #Leadership #HumanRights

In 65 countries, same-sex intimacy is still a crime. These laws mean that LGBT people are arrested, harassed, stigmatised and silenced – simply for being who they are. This #Pride, your support is more critical than ever. Together, we can keep the arc of history bending toward justice. Every donation this June will be matched – up to £40,000. That means your £25 becomes £50. Your £100 becomes £200. humandignitytrust.org/donate/ #PowerUpPride
