It is honestly disappointing to see what has become of The Guardian. This was once a paper we looked up to for its courage and its commitment to the truth, yet here we are being fed nothing but guesswork and 'palace intrigue' from the Westminster bubble. Pippa Crerar and the editors seem more interested in being 'insiders' playing a game of power than in actual reporting. It feels as though they are no longer content with being a mirror to reality and they want to be the ones pulling the strings and building the narrative themselves. When a paper like The Guardian, with its supposed star journalists, sinks to this kind of trash journalism instead of doing the real work for society, democracy is simply laughing in our faces. We need them to expose scandals and the players behind populist circles or the truth about things like Palantir. Thank you @PippaCrerar for destroying the little hope we had left that true journalism still exists.

Anecdotally, I’m getting the strong sensation there’s a ground swell of we ordinary Labour voters who are sick to the back teeth of left/right extremists and are preparing to mobilise to support our govt as it goes about repairing 14 years of Tory decimation, and getting results

I’ve watched all of Starmer’s statement and the following Q&A’s in Parliament today and think he did exceptionally well. And yes, I also stick to what I have said recently in that there was something quite Machiavellian going on and that relevant and vital information was withheld from both the PM and his senior ministers. There are people in Whitehall that knew exactly what they were doing here and set a ticking time bomb on the whole Mandelson vetting process and in order to discredit Starmer.
