For me, considering degree of difficulty, circumstance, situation and dramatic effect……that’s the best shot of all time. Miss Tiger in his prime and I bet Nike do with a self made ad like that at prime time! Tiger was box office and transcended our sport 🔥🔥🔥

The cheap green lie You are told that solar and wind are cheap But you need near-100% backup when no sun or wind, paying for two systems Data for 2024 shows that cramming in more solar and wind makes electricity overall more and more costly iea.org/data-and-stati… Threads&refs: x.com/BjornLomborg/s…

“Rogers” “Baleba” You follow me, you follow the trail.

It’s very simple. Rogers or Ndiaye as LW/#10 with Baleba as our O’Reilly (LB/#8). That’s your LHS revamped, while completely covering all areas of midfield too. Those are the 2 BIG priority moves to make this summer. That’s your briefed “versatile attacker” + “midfielder”.

Bob, seriously you cannot be this dense. US has Henry Hub market which is significantly cheaper than our wholesale prices due to domestic production. UK is tied to Dutch TTF prices, the more we rely on expensive LNG imports the higher the TTF price, the less energy secure we are. We also have higher embedded carbon emission AND we lost on tax revenue. This has been explained to you multiple times my multiple people. At this point you’re either a troll or you’re just dense.

This is wrong. There is a European international market on which gas from around the world is sold to the U.K. and other countries. North Sea gas is sold at this market price, not at a discount to British consumers.
John Redwood@johnredwood

There is no world price of gas. US home produced gas is so much cheaper than our imported LNG. To save our factories we need to press on with more UK piped gas where supply will be cheaper and more reliable than LNG imports.

@ZackPolanski Wrong. But we could cut them massively by abolishing all CFDs, ROs, FITs etc and getting rid of the Carbon Tax.

Bills could be cut by up over £200 a year by stopping gas setting the price of energy in the UK. Government could do this now as part of a series of measures to insulate us from the shockwaves of this war. This isn't a time for half-measures, we need serious action and fast.
Common Wealth@Cmmonwealth

Today we argue the Government should pass “emergency legislation and instruct the National Energy System Operator to act as a single buyer of power”. This would decouple electricity prices from gas. Our latest report discussed in the @NewStatesman. newstatesman.com/politics/uk-po…

Olise signed for Bayern for £50m in July, we signed Neto for £54m and João Félix for £45m in August. ‘felt finances involved beyond reach’ as they didn’t want to break their wage structure so instead they ended up overpaying for less talent. smart business, that.
David Ornstein@David_Ornstein

🚨 EXCL: Chelsea withdraw from race to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise. #CFC held talks with #CPFC + 22yo but felt finances involved beyond reach - instead plan to reward existing players & new recruits (expected to add 2 attackers) @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/55640…

@bjames280961 @RobinW1966 Not to mention that it is very easy to see his political ideology (Green). So he's not impartial. But the IEA can instantly be dismissed by him because they are Right of Centre, with not a scintilla of self-awareness of his own monumental left bias. It's amazing.

This is great. A (nominal) journalist, who seemingly struggles with literacy, says leave this stuff to people like me.....and then blocks someone saying, okay, let's talk about it. Honestly, the bar to being a UK journalist is lower than it's ever been. Thoughts @RobinW1966?

@TyRich_11 @TheScore01 That image compares Rogers (apparently worth £100m) with Garnacho (who we should apparently sell). PL, this season.

What happened @RobinW1966? Did you actually read the report and realise @LoftusSteve was right? Why would you block him? Is that the actions of a journalist interested in the truth? Sadly this is all too typical of Big Green. Call to authority, ignore facts, block, repeat.
Steve Loftus@LoftusSteve

Poor Robin spent the last day getting his ass handed to him and promising to have a coherent argument soon and then blocked me. These people live in a fact free bubble and can't handle data based arguments.

@TyRich_11 @TheScore01 Not really. It was pointed out by many that replacing Jackson with Delap was going to make the team weaker. Why would you pay £100m for the inferior player riding a crazy hot streak? Morgan Rogers is the most overrated player in the league by a mile.

@jonburkeUK True. A position the Greens would do here. But they went all in on wind, without having baseload, and then had to resort to coal when the wind wasn't blowing. Energy prices rose dramatically. It's a catastrophic failure, driven by wind / solar ideology. Same as we've done here

Steve doesn’t think it matters that the CEO of Renewables U.K is a former senior Conservative Party and Shell employee helping to perpetuate Conservative Party and fossil fuel industry myths about North Sea oil and gas. I do, and you should too…👇

@jonburkeUK The importance and benefits of cheap, reliable, consistent power and what that means for society as a whole are also monumental. Whatever provides that (gas, coal, nuclear, oil) etc I don't care. It just needs to be there. It's the basis for absolutely everything.

@jonburkeUK You are conflating two separate matters. Germany has had to resort to coal, haven't they? Personally, I'm not bothered in the slightest by any warming of the planet, whatever the cause. It has monumental benefits which far outweigh any negatives. The danger would be cooling..
