The overall sentiment here is entirely correct. It's also really important to acknowledge that at 36-years old, and reasonably successful to this point by many measures, I still haven't made $40,000 a year as a broadcaster. That part of this clip feels misleading 🧵

Carson Seymour is my personal pick for a bullpen spot. His arsenal is primed for the role. A fastball triangle (four-seam, sinker, cutter) at 96 mph, and a "deathball" slider that should be one of the best whiff-inducers in baseball. His curveball is gross, too.

@pitted_03 The other possible scenario is Bivens over Gage. They currently have three lefties, so Gage is a bit expendable. But I think having both Brubaker and Bivens in the bullpen is malpractice. You need as many arms as possible that you're confident with in high-leverage.

With two years of team control, the price for Donovan would be moderately high. Maybe Dakota Jordan and Jacob Bresnahan? These contracts also keep them well below the $244M luxury tax threshold.

My ideal offseason for the Giants: - Sign Tatsuya Imai (6 years, $150M) - Trade for Brendan Donovan - Sign Rob Refsnyder (2 years, $25M) - Sign Emilio Pagán (2 years, $25M) Gives you a top-10 rotation in MLB, shores up the bullpen, and really lengthens the lineup.
