While vetting an alien from Colombia, our staff uncovered a DUI conviction and charges for felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony battery. @ICEgov apprehended him when he arrived at our office for his asylum interview. America is not open to those who threaten the safety of American citizens.

On Monday, a DHS employee, Lauren Bullis, was brutally shot and stabbed to death by Olaolukitan Adon Abel, a 26-year-old, born in the United Kingdom, who was naturalized by the Biden Administration in 2022.  Since President Trump took office, @USCIS has implemented measures to ensure individuals with criminal histories and who otherwise lack good moral character do not attain citizenship. He possesses a prior criminal record that includes convictions for sexual battery, battery against a police officer, obstruction, and assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and now stands accused of murdering @DHSgov employee Lauren Bullis by shooting and stabbing her while she walked her dog. He has also been arrested for the murder of an unidentified woman whom he reportedly shot outside a Checkers, before randomly shooting a homeless man multiple times outside a Kroger in Brookhaven. These acts of pure evil have devastated our Department and my prayers are with the families of the victims.

An alien from El Salvador with a removal order from more than 25 years ago, was taken into custody by @ICEgov when he appeared at our Charlotte office for a family petition interview. Outstanding removal orders will not get past intense screening and vetting procedures put in place by the Trump Administration. When a judge orders removal, the law will be enforced.

USCIS recently played a critical role in the arrest of Dawood Hussain, an illegal Pakistani alien charged with felony vehicular homicide, after driving a commercial truck the wrong way on a Pennsylvania highway in October 2023. UNVETTED AFGHAN PEDOPHILE ARRESTED. Basir Ahmad Safi, an Afghan national, was arrested by DHS on March 11. Safi has a disgusting criminal history, including indecent exposure to a minor, soliciting a child by computer, child abuse, and lascivious exhibition. Safi was allowed into our homeland in 2021 as a part of President Biden’s "Operation Allies Welcome” and was arrested only two years later for his sex offenses. He should have NEVER been allowed into America and given the opportunity to prey on innocent children. DHS will continue to identify and remove the public safety threats, like Safi, within our nation.

BREAKING: DHS confirms that the suspect in custody for murdering Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman in Chicago is a Venezuelan illegal alien who was caught & released at the border by the Biden administration in May 2023. DHS says he was also released from local custody after a shoplifting arrest in the sanctuary city of Chicago on June 19, 2023. DHS identifies the suspect as Venezuelan national Jose Medina-Medina. Medina-Medina is accused of approaching Gorman while she was walking in a park with friends early Thursday morning. DHS says Medina-Medina came up to her while wearing a mask and armed with a gun. As she attempted to flee, he fired his gun and shot her. Gorman was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. DHS statement: “Sheridan Gorman had her whole life ahead of her before this cold-blooded killer decided to end her life. She was failed by open border policies and sanctuary politicians who RELEASED this illegal alien TWICE before he went on to commit this heinous murder,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “We are calling on Governor Pritzker and Chicago’s sanctuary politicians to commit to not releasing this criminal illegal alien from jail back into American neighborhoods.”
