This is a huge moment for us to announce the collaboration between 2000Fun and Artisan.
It took us almost a year to develop, and here comes the 2000Fun x Artisan Yakō (夜行) Edition.
For those of us who grew up in Hong Kong, Japanese culture is all around us. We were also pleasantly surprised to hear the folks at Artisan say they love Hong Kong culture too.
From the moment “Let’s make a 2000Fun version!” was said, we started thinking about how to showcase this close connection between the two places. Ultimately, we went with the iconic city nightscapes and neon lights, where both places look strikingly familiar.
Thanks to the craftsmanship of Artisans, after many prototyping and refinements, they achieved a great balance between controlling the change in glide feeling and excellent image quality.
It is impressive how our illustrator @rokku_sama turns our idea into the stunning illustration. Not just did she find the colour scheme to make the pad look great with mouse in any colour. But she also cleverly turned the slight ghosting effect of the printing to exalt the texture of the image, and made use of the full range of colour space and expressiveness that printing technology can present.
This is our first-ever attempt to create a product of 2000Fun, and we are super proud of the outcome.
We wish to share the fruit with all of you around the globe.
