No I live in a Muslim country currently. No bacon here and I was never a fan. But he makes perfect sense. It's about mutual respect. I was forced to attend Mosque in UK schooling right before my CoE school changed to a Muslim school. Never a synagogue or gurdwara though. Seems the UAE are more socially aware generally and gatekeep their religious practices and education rather than indeed forcing them on children.
