As a kid who grew up in the 80s with sneaking to watch Cinemax Late Nights, the new Emmanuel reboot on @HBOMax sucked.

@RackSpinner That was the first Star Wars comic I had. My grandmother bought it for me at the grocery store when I’d stayed with her one day. That particular grocery store did not have a spinner rack, but instead had comics on a typical magazine rack.

@NickHoopes_ Had a bunch of sophomores coming in about 20 years ago, all with the same English teacher and having to read “To Kill a Mockingbird”. During cold packs they’d have their books out. I’d never had to read it… so I read it with them. To this day it’s my favorite book.

I was also informed that my mom probably pays my wife to stay with me because “she’s way too pretty” and I had to rearrange the schedule so that 2 of the 3 could come in at the same time to plan future hangouts. My kids are not allowed to enter their teenage years 😅

My last 3 patients of today were middle school girls. My final stats for this afternoon: -37 eye rolls -24 heavy sighs when asked to exercise -12 jokes about my age -7 jokes about my receding hairline -4 Snapchat videos -2 Snapchat video calls & -1 TikTok in which I “cooked”

@NickHoopes_ Those kids that come to see you in middle, junior, and high school that think “man, this looks like a cool job”… what you do means something to them.

@NickHoopes_ I got some of my most productive rehab in when kids that knew each other came in at the same time. Crazy enough…the 3 that I’m thinking of: one became a nurse, one an OT, one a PT.

@Adam_P_Carson Community is always the backbone of healthcare. You treat people right and it’s gonna find its way back to you. I do a lot of “off the clock” work The return may not be immediate, but it will be there at some point.

Told my patients all week I was getting a cow this weekend… I had to clarify that it would not be if the live variant 😅

@NickHoopes_ For the photographers, for the most part we would do headshots and actions shots for the staff and website pix. Some things for the socials. Bakers…I took their wares to doctors offices as thank-yous . Made sure to have their logo on the boxes of goodies (along with ours)

@NickHoopes_ Back when I owned the practice, I did lots of that stuff. Never charged an electricians, plumbers, heat and air folks, bakers, and photographers. Might’ve billed insurance but then bartered the copays. That said, if a staffer treated the person, I would give them the spoils.

@NickHoopes_ 2 years later, a patio furniture and grill small business owner had an ACL also: We bartered a Big Green Egg.

@NickHoopes_ Some guy didn’t have insurance but had cattle. I think the doc did the same thing.
