Happy Mother's Day to the women who shape our families, our communities, and our future. Across Arkansas and the nation we are celebrating the love and sacrifices of moms everywhere. I'm forever grateful for my own mother. Her strength taught me to never back down. And to my wife, thank you for being the rock of our home and the best mom I know. Today we celebrate moms in all their love and sacrifice. And we also hold space for those carrying the weight of loss. If you're missing your mother today, please know you're not alone. Sending you extra love and peace.

On this National Day of Prayer, let’s do more than speak. Let’s serve. Let’s pray with our hands, our feet, and our voices for an Arkansas that lifts every family and leaves no one behind. We talked about the issues that hit home: strong schools, good jobs, healthcare you can count on. But mostly, we talked about what it really takes to turn things around – each other. It’s about every parent working double shifts, every teacher buying classroom supplies out of pocket, every small-town family wondering if Congress even remembers they exist. My mom spent decades in the classroom pouring into other people’s children like they were her own. And when I stood in front of my own students, I finally understood: teaching isn’t just a job. It’s a daily act of hope. You don’t do it for the thanks — but you sure deserve it. It’s National Astronaut Day. As a kid I looked at the stars and dreamed of becoming an astronaut. I’m deaf in one ear, so that dream felt out of reach. But that didn’t stop me from working for NASA alongside astronauts. Happy National Astronauts Day to all those astronauts who remind us: exploration at the farthest edges is where our shared humanity is clearest. That’s why Congress must stop treating STEM funding like an optional line item. Let’s invest in innovation, expand apprenticeships for skilled technical jobs, and ensure every child has access to life-altering opportunities.
