I turned 18 in 2007. I barely ever touched MySpace except to message my friend group to set up social events, and i managed to not die as a gay teen just fine. In fact, i didn't even mention being gay on facebook until ~2010, well after i had actually came out.

Early gay millennials during their elementary and middle school years hardly have or had no internet life because may didn’t have internet access back then. We were just fine. Actually, it minimized the risk of being indoctrinated or being exposed to social contagions especially for those who are mentally and emotionally vulnerable.

This will be more true for females than males. Many females can ignore, even talk ourselves out of, inconvenient desires related to sexuality. Males mostly can’t. This is not simply a case of will-power. It’s a case of fluid, malleable sexuality vs fixed, rigid sexuality.
