@ItalianNIrish He actually hits the ball quite hard a good portion of the time. Swing decisions are the most prominent issue, but he’s impressed me for sure over this last month or so.

A ton of prospect evaluators (myself included) have been pretty down on Justin Crawford’s center field defense.
This is a really, really hard play to make. Super impressive.

@Palpably_Unfair The bulk was poor reads — but further than that, it’s just that the defensive ability has never managed to live up to the sheer athleticism… yet. He shows flashes with these kinds of plays where you just marvel at what kind of defender he could be.

@AlexCarrMLB Can you speak to any of the negatives you and others have observed? Is it his ability to track the ball and read it off the bat? Arm strength? Because he clearly has elite range/athleticism.

This sounds silly to say on Opening Day, but today’s pitching lines could have genuine Cy Young implications.
Paul Skenes allowed 5 earned runs across .2 innings today. He allowed 5 earned runs just once last season.
Cris Sanchez just finished up 6 spotless frames with 10 K’s.

This is awesome. The Phillies traded TJ Rumfield to the Yankees in exchange for Nick Nelson and Donny Sands back in 2021.
He's 26 now, but had a fantastic spring. Struck out ONCE in 62 PA and hit five home runs. He's projecting as the Rockies starting 1B. Good for him.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm actually intrigued by a healthy Zach Pop.
Historically gets a ton of chase and ugly swings, which yields a lot of poor, ground-bound contact. He's certainly more enticing than the Jose Ruiz/Carlos Hernandez fliers a la the 2025 Phillies.
