@JoyNewsOnTV The ambulance service their core mandate is to transport patient to a definitive care facility. Why did the hospital refused to attend to the patient.? Meanwhile the ambulance stretcher is also equal to the hospital beds.

@CheEsquire Lol. All doctors are the same, they are monolith. They are mostly responsible for the poor health outcomes and not the system which they operate. Burn them at the stake and surely, our health wellbeing will drastically improve.

You see Ghana healthcare professionals? They don’t understand why anything should be investigated. After all this is not the first time someone has died in their - patients die all the time. Thats their mindset. They don’t care!

I have read the full 62-page committee report on the death of Charles Amissah. Here are the key facts and findings from the report. 1/ Charles Amissah was involved in a road traffic accident on 6 February 2026 near the Circle Overhead Bridge. 2/ The report describes him at the scene as clinically stable and viable. 3/ The report describes the sequence of events as a 118-minute fatal referral loop. 4/ He arrived at Police Hospital, then the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, and finally Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. 5/ His death was recorded at 00:30. (12:30am) 6/ The report states that he died from exsanguination, meaning excessive blood loss, due to right upper arm bone and soft tissue injuries involving major blood vessels. 7/ The report states that his death could have been avoided through medical intervention at Police Hospital, Greater Accra Regional Hospital, or Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. 8/ The report identifies possible life-saving interventions, including compression of the laceration, packing of the deeper wound, intravenous fluids during ambulance transport, and intravenous fluids plus whole blood at any hospital. 10/ The report identifies gaps in the National Ambulance Service, including a lack of documentation of critical vital signs, inadequate formal handover procedures, weak chain-of-command communication, and equipment limitations. 11/ The report states that the ambulance crew had inconsistent vital signs reporting and lacked Basic Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support skills. 12/ For the Police Hospital, the report states that the ambulance arrived with Charles alive, but the hospital failed to triage him and initiate stabilizing interventions. 13/ For Greater Accra Regional Hospital, the report states that the ambulance arrived with Charles alive, but the hospital failed to triage him and initiate stabilizing interventions. 14/ For Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the report states that the ambulance arrived with Charles alive, but the hospital failed to triage him and initiate stabilizing interventions. 15/ The report also states that at Korle Bu, the ambulance crew was redirected to UGMC, and Charles died in the ambulance after about 70 minutes while in the hospital. 16/ The committee recommends disciplinary referral of named doctors and nurses to their institutions and to their professional regulatory bodies for alleged breaches of professional duty. 17/ The committee concludes that medical staff on duty at Police Hospital, Greater Accra Regional Hospital, and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital failed to attend to Charles Amissah when he was in a life-threatening condition, and that this led to his avoidable death. 18/ The committee ends with a # of recommendations. —- These are the key findings as presented in the report. I will share my thoughts and reflections separately. But point 12/13/14 is troubling!
