IIT Bombay has started a sustainable initiative to manage its green waste by converting it into a usable energy source. With the campus generating several tonnes of leaf litter on a regular basis, the institute has shifted from conventional disposal methods to a resource-based approach. By processing this biomass into fuel pellets, a circular system has been created that reduces waste management costs while generating energy for applications such as cooking.
