@DavyJonesLR I don’t think Hilary Knight lied about wanting to be in Seattle, it seems like she didn’t have much of a choice with Vegas giving her the EFO spot. It’s basically like “if I have to go somewhere new, it’ll be Detroit not Vegas” so they organized the trade

@antduzzi @IanKennedyCK I could be entirely wrong, it’s a confusing process, but the whole point of the EFO deal was that players couldn’t say no. Knight had control over how long she played in Vegas, but Vegas agreed to the first round pick in exchange, seems like both teams are on the same page

This was always happening. Knight was going to Detroit. The issue was Vegas' EFO got in the way of plans.

@antduzzi @IanKennedyCK from the sounds of it, it seems like Vegas agreed to the trade. if Vegas weren’t happy with it, they could’ve just signed Knight for one year for their EFO and Knight would’ve had to stick it out until she went back to free agency

@cranberr1ez exactly!! the red wings struggled for years because nobody wanted to come to Detroit, and now the PWHL team has some incredible history-making players and management
