DOG PARENTS - PLEASE BE AWARE: This so-called "mystery illness" has also been hitting our area. Several national news stories are now published, including one of the latest ones linked below. Be mindful if traveling with your pups to other states for the holidays (e.g., Colorado has been harder hit), and consider avoiding dog parks for now. Be sure your vet and kennel owners are aware and isolating as much as possible. According to news reports and statewide vet alerts (started in Oregon), this is not kennel cough - although it initially appears to be - and is not a known annual flu virus.
