I just want to say: I love coding. Even on days when I'm so so frustrated with it, I still love it. I haven't felt this way since my math days at Berkeley. I can't believe it took me this long to get into software engineering but I'm here now and there's no turning back.

I asked my engineers the biggest thing slowing them down right now. I shit you not, one of them looks me dead in the eyes and goes “more monitors.” Not context switching. Not scope creep. I love coding with AI. I am more productive than ever. I will never not use AI to code but you are a moron if you believe people are using one line prompts to build fully functional apps that can be maintained and evolve into real products.

A huge misconception non-technical folks have is that engineers & CEOs vibe coding is the same thing. Literally could not be more different. A CEO vibe coding is trying to one-shot an internal version of Asana from scratch. An engineer vibe coding is an elaborate orchestration of sub-agents that are carefully navigated through studying, planning, executing, testing, hardening, and improving.
