@BSUhawk2 @MarinerMuse I always hated garver because he was getting paid 12m a year and was brought in to be an everyday DH and serve as a backup catcher every few days, but when hes used as strictly a backup catcher and being paid 2M i love him cause you will probably not find a better BC than him

Two b2b years of negative WAR. lhad a career high 61.8% of at bats against lefties and still had sub replacement level production.

Again, it seems like the Mariners are pretty firm on not challenging this early into a game, but that's probably a situation (two on, none out, potential to swing to a full count) where they should allow for their hitters to make an exception.

@GreedyCeedee @MarinerMuse He’s been a sub replacement level player for two years, after coming in as the second highest paid free agent bat signed in the Dipoto era (pre Naylor). In 2025 runners on he hit sub .200, while at the same time being played primarily against LHP. He’s just not good.

His swing is impossible to enjoy visually and his approach was god awful in 24/25. Dan’s inability to stop PH him in high leverage also fueled my hatred
