After 30 years, the #FlaPanthers are ditching cable and joining Vegas and Utah by going over-the-air with their broadcasts.
With Bally Sports in bankruptcy due to Sinclair’s overpayment/mismanagement, many more teams will do the same.

Nate Schmidt is joining the Cup champion #FlaPanthers: 1 year x $800,000.
Schmidt takes less money than every other option on the table - wanted to be in Florida and loved playing for Paul Maurice.
Panthers take another guy off of buyout and try and repay him with silver.

@alwaysbelitt Yeah that is where things get tricky with Bob for sure. As far as Knight we have *no idea* what we have in him if we are being realistic. Signing him when we did to what we did was a big miss.

This is why I’ve said many times we have to prepare for this and have to have a solid and stable prospect pool behind these guys. Luckily we have some flexibility with things like cap increasing some. You are right, though: a goalie contract and Ekblad reduction gotta go.

You are 100% correct not everyone can stay. With regards to those two, though, reports state we are working on them right now and Zito has quite the history of being able to negotiate discounts (Forsling, Reinhart, etc…). Lundell is an RFA but seems to be unhappy a bit? (Cont..)

As Florida weighs extensions for Verhaeghe & Bennett, they've been taking calls on goalie Spencer Knight. I'm told the Panthers aren't shopping him, but that hasn't stopped inquiries. Meanwhile, nothing close right now with RFA Anton Lundell.

It's worth the risk for nashville, but it could definitely could be buyout candidate in 2-3 years if he doesn't produce. He doesn't have a kucherov feeding him anymore. New fit after 16 years, different conference. Lots of variables.

Sam Reinhart making just north of 8.5M…has to piss off teams and players, tbh. He’s valuable defensively, is a winger, but scores 50+…how can you say you’re worth 3M+ more than him right now? FLA getting him for that is nuts.
