there was a time when ye showing up to view digital crypto art and the knicks having their after party at flyfish (the web3 members club in nyc) would've sent the nft market flying. the problem with web3 is everyone wants adoption yesterday. and if it doesnt happen immediately, it's a zero. that's just not how culture works. it takes years, decades even.

Had a call yesterday with the creator of a character brand with 3M+ followers, and one we've always been inspired by. Having only known Chimpers from the content side, he was genuinely surprised when I showed him the deeper ecosystem beneath it all. The 5,555 characters, lore, Collector Hub, products, collectibles, rewards, and the broader world we're building around Chimpers. We also spoke about NFTs and crypto. Like many creators, his perception had been shaped by seeing people launch NFTs or tokens and then disappear, leaving a bad impression of the space. There's still a lot of bridge building to do. Our job is to meet people where they are. Most people don't wake up wanting a wallet. They want characters. Stories. Entertainment. Collectibles. Experiences. If someone discovers Chimpers through a reel, that's great. If they discover us through a plush toy, that's great. If they go deeper and discover us through a collectible card, a game, a sticker pack, or an NFT, that's great too. They're all entering the same world, just through different doors. Our job is to make the journey feel seamless. Always fascinating to see people's reaction when they realise Chimpers is much bigger than the content they see on their feed. Chimp by chimp. 🐒

Hot take: Most projects die because founders focus on investors instead of users The most dangerous moment for a project is usually right after raising money because this is when teams relax thinking the hard part is over Wrong. The money just bought you runway to find users who actually care. I've watched too many teams spend that runway on bigger offices, fancy team travels, and hires while their metrics flatline. Success shouldn't be measured in dollars raised or we would all be successful now Investors follow where users already are

Yea especially the NFT space. “Founders” just don’t care. They’re in it for the 💰 It’s unique because you’re not technically raising money at mint. It’s revenue. It’s not tax free like traditionally raising a private VC round. It’s boot strapping. The incentives are usually always misaligned… That’s why it’s much better to launch for free. Crush the launch. Make sure you’re enforcing your royalties. Then make due with what you have. No big promises. No unreal expectations. I could go on…in a twitter space lol

Fewer companies go public now, and when they do, the upside is already extracted. Retail is left holding scraps. Regulation strangles real access and tokenization just opened the floodgates to scams.

a few years ago, someone "stole" my artwork and ever since then, these mass produced fake slides with my art printed on them have been popping up everywhere. from amazon, to tiktok ads, to street markets and flea markets what does someone do about this? lol

One of the things I have been experimenting is with killer nstagram handles. I own @ runner and figuring out my content. Was just invited to the Creator program this week and signed my first two brand deals and added my first creator to add content (hint, she is much prettier and faster than me)

Yes…Figure out internally what you’re running away from in life that scares you. The things you think about the most that you don’t act upon. Write them down. Then pick one and start. Slow and steady from there love. Social isolation is only good for the first part…finding the questions. Then you need to go out and get the answers ❤️

Any tips to treat chronic anxiety? Only way way for me to get better and find some peace is complete social isolation but this isn’t sustainable nor healthy. I live a healthy lifestyle (exercice, therapy and eat well) but it doesn’t help.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the @XCOPYART cc0 collection that has been inscribed on bitcoin @BTCGrifters There is honestly a world where this plays out to become a great collectors piece, it’s the exact collection from Xcopy’s original Grifters collection on eth. The collection is cc0 and was primed to be inscribed on bitcoin, it just so happened to be done by a well known ordinal chad. The eth collection is currently trading at 12.55eth. The bitcoin collection is minting at $30 in BTC. I’m sure this is going to totally stir the pot and will cause some wild debates on the timeline. For me I would normally hate this type drop but the fact it’s cc0 and is being done by a respected ordinal chad, I think this could really become an interesting project over time. Art on bitcoin is truly immutable and in my opinion the best place for artists to put their work. Will collectibles play out like that? Will these piece become the first XCopy collection on Bitcoin if they like it or not? Or will they go to 0 😂 Let’s see!
