I'm missing about about $2 million from exactly that move.
NFT Worlds was my worst-ever investment in gaming. I stuck around for years waiting for the team to get their shit together, but there's been so many mishaps, restarts, pivots and just bad strategies, I've had enough of it.
I still like the vision of a UGC minecraft-style world, but the team has a fuck ton of issues to fix in their ecosystem to get there. The whole ecosystem now feels like the team have used the community for mint after mint and have done very little to give anything back to the NFTs, or even the appearance of trying.
The cardinal in for me is that the core NFTs have no utility other than token vouchers and some bullshit hosting discounts, which is an absolute disappointment on what the original vision was. ANd I see little effort there to change this. Does not mesh with my vision of where NFTs fit in an ecosystem.
I think the token is still interesting at these FDVs if they manage to finally ship a game out before the end of the bull, but I have a bad taste in my mouth with how the team has littered their ecosystem with a graveyard of mostly dead NFTs. I don't think they even know what they want to do there anymore.
Token interesting though if you want to buy and hold and again, if they kick out any sort of half decent game next year, I see multiples on the token. Far less bullish on any NFT in their ecosystem though. I have a shit ton of nodes I'm stuck with so if they do actually manage to get anything as per their promises (which I do hope they can), I have a lot of exposure still with my nodes.
But for the right now, I see a lot better bets to focus on with founders who actually care about building utility to their NFT.
