@Steven1897001 @afneil Yes, a disaster. They reduced supply, locked out people who really needed it, increased prices elsewhere and led to a huge reduction in housing quality

Terrible judgment by the Prime Minister tonight. By whipping “House Business” he confirms at least one of two things, and most likely both: that a large number of his MPs are not buying his narrative and/or that he has misled the House. If he has acted in good faith Privileges would clear him. An unnecessary distraction? Not as much as what is now bound to follow. Utter contempt of Parliament including his own MPs.

Wow - just seen that CBI Retail sales number for April Minus 68, lowest since 1983. Slow handclap for this government.

Keir Starmer is a vile, nasty, thin-skinned, vindictive, authoritarian, insecure, pathetic excuse for a man who only cares about himself. Please Labour MPs spare us the crap about him being 'a decent man of integrity'. He's the total opposite of that. x.com/PolitlcsUK/sta…

🚨 CONFIRMED: Keir Starmer will whip Labour MPs to vote against referring him to the Privileges Committee It means any Labour MP voting for it risks being suspended from the party

This is bleak. I don’t think Reeves is thick. I think she understands that this will force landlords to sell up. (And push up rents between tenancies) Her civil servants will have told her this at least. If this is on the table then it suggests her authority has gone and she’s unable to push back against the Labour left. Not just bad policy, but a sign things will get worse from here. theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

This is a complete lie. Lady Victoria Starmer no longer resides in Downing Street with the children, is more miserable than she’s ever been, and wants him out of the job ASAP. I feel sorry for her being used as a political tool based on a fantasy.

One thing people need to understand. No.10 trying to influence DV is not a run of the mill event. It’s a massive breach of a process that is supposed to protect the national security of the United Kingdom.

When you visit England, you want to experience English culture and English people. When you visit Germany, German culture and people. Japan, Japanese culture and people. That is true diversity. Flooding every nation with the same mass migration is erasing distinct cultures.

Friendly note to Labour MPs ahead of the vote tomorrow to decide if Starmer should face an ethics probe: If you vote against it, Reform will carpet bomb your constituency to ensure all your constituents know you voted to save the most unpopular PM of all time. Vote wisely.

A Prime Minister drawing up plans to block any inquiry into his own conduct. It is a slippery slope when those in power decide what scrutiny their actions are subject to. The public deserve a direct say in how we are governed. This is what House of The People is building.

NEW: Downing Street is furious that this Privileges Committee vote is going ahead tomorrow A No10 spokesperson said: “The government is engaging with the two parliamentary processes that are already running on Peter Mandelson’s appointment with full transparency. “This is a desperate political stunt by the Conservative Party the week before the May elections because they have no answers on the cost of living or the NHS. Their claims have no substance.”

@DPJHodges Or it’s a complete non-event which is what your previous message inferred, there’s no plan and it’s politically motivated. There are bigger issues in the world; maybe not to you, but to others like the electorate.

BTW, the vote is now a “Win/Win” for Kemi Badenoch. Either Labour MPs refuse to refer Starmer. In which case they’re directly implicated in, and toxified by, the scandal. Or they vote to refer. And Starmer is brought down.
