@paullewismoney Not content with orchestrating the deaths of thousands in this country first though austerity then using covid to thin the herd, now the Tories want to contribute to the total destruction of human life on earth, who have they made a deal with now? 😈

Day 9 out of the EU it’s the turn of the bees bit.ly/2MS5Ju5 and yet 9 November 2017 “The UK will back a total ban on insect-harming pesticides in fields across Europe, the environment secretary, Michael Gove, has revealed.” Saying it would boost crops by up to £680m/yr

@hugoagogo83 @terrychristian There is no moral, economic or environmental argument for the shooting of game birds, in fact the opposite is true, it should be banned, it would be banned if it didn't make a lot of money for some already wealthy people. #RoyalFamily

@Pepys_Diaries Good Sir, the list of blame doth ever grow from Mister Johnson. From't physicks and ministering Angels using their PPE with wrongful effect, to the carers allowing t' pox to steel away their elderly charges. There will nought be end to it.
English

@Pepys_Diaries Good Sir, thine words do continue to spread far and wide as missives from thy namesake. Only this morn, did they appear on mine book of the face, carried by Mercury's fast wings.
English

As the taverns prepare to furnish the masses with drams and vittles once more, I notice my words of less recent times hath been resurrected. Though the plague abates, they ring no less true to mine ears, so I shall shutter myself inside to endure the prating of Mrs Pepys.
FakeyPepys@Pepys_Diaries
The taverns are fair full of gadabouts making merry this eve. And though I may press my face against the window like an urchin at a confectioner’s, I am tempted not by the sweetmeats within. A dram in exchange for the pox is an ill bargain indeed.
English

@andycorneys Unfortunately they will. They were queuing to go to sports direct last week. Despite the horrendous track record of its greedy ass boss. 😩

@nicolegellson @Spyero42 @uk_sf_writer @guyverhofstadt I think they would have preferred not being colonised by anyone.
English

@ByWillows @Spyero42 @uk_sf_writer @guyverhofstadt I think if the Mayans, Aztecs and Incas could compare the fate of indigenous peoples in British colonies compared to their fate in Spanish colonies, they would much rather have been colonised by the British.
English

But I thought that foreigners stealing British jobs was one of the reasons you wanted Brexit?

@DeepblueBoy65 @serliamholman Would people have voted the way they did if they realised that public money was being paid to private companies..especially as these are nor always British.
English

@DeepblueBoy65 @serliamholman It is not that voters are idiots, but generally people don't have enough experience of the issues at hand to make an informed decision.
There is bias on both ends of the spectrum.
English

@DeepblueBoy65 @serliamholman Take for instance the campaign of £350 million been given to NHS instead of EU.
People will assume that NHS is a completely public run body..in reality parts of NHS are out to private tender and have been for years. Money is going to private companies to run services...
English

@nicolegellson @Spyero42 @uk_sf_writer @guyverhofstadt I wouldn't say saved..just that they got there first and were also exploitative .
English

@ByWillows @Spyero42 @uk_sf_writer @guyverhofstadt We saved them from being exploited by the French or Spanish! 😁
English

@nicolegellson @Spyero42 @uk_sf_writer @guyverhofstadt I think you'll find that those "nations" existed quite happily before we waded in and destroyed and expoited them. Sure the First Nations didn't appreciate our 'democracy'.
English

@Spyero42 @uk_sf_writer @guyverhofstadt We discovered a quarter of the world and helped develop the economy, law and democracy it enjoys as independent nations today. They are independent because of that democracy! Britons, such as Wilberforce, did more than any other nation to outlaw slavery!
English

@uk_sf_writer @JoeMarinho @guyverhofstadt No Stephen. We have used the world in the past. Windrush mean anything to you?
English

@JoeMarinho @guyverhofstadt My point entirely. We've always been open to the world. Pro-EU trolls simply don't know our history, or are blinded by FBPE propaganda.
English

@uk_sf_writer @guyverhofstadt Oh dear Stephen. Historically we have not embraced the world, we have tried to dominate it. Now we can't, we don't like it and retreat to archaic ideas of a Great Britain, which frankly was not that great for the ordinary working person.
English

@guyverhofstadt That just shows how little you understand about the British, Mr Verhofstadt. If you simply studied a little history, you'd know it is our deeply held democratic principles which made membership of the EU repugnant to so many of us.
You may be xenophobic, we embrace the world.

@DeepblueBoy65 @serliamholman People are influenced/ manipulated into what they want. They are told that unemployment and lack of housing is the result of immigrants. It's an old trick of capitalists to pit ordinary people against each other, rather than the real problem of inequality in wealth/ opportunity.
English

@serliamholman It’s not about origins...it’s about being in line with what the people want.....see the last election result.
English

@DevonBloke @lisanandy I think you need to consider that the people who represent their constituents are better able to do this if they are not Covid ridden. There is no need to re-establish the heckle fest in the commons, if the business in hand can be done remotely.
English

This is just awful. The government stopped MPs from working from home and asked us to return to a building where social distancing is impossible. MPs are travelling home to every part of the country tonight. Reckless doesn’t even begin to describe it.

NEW: Business Secretary Alok Sharma self-isolating and has been tested for Coronavirus. He began feeling unwell in the chamber today, spokesperson says.
English

@Pepys_Diaries Bravo Good Sir, thou scribblings doth reflect the mood of the populace. Tis a sorry state, but we are nought to the blaggard and his foul cronies.
English

@MattHancock Are you fucking mad! Shielders need to stay shielding, otherwise they will be lining the mortuary shelves.
English

Now we’ve flattened the curve & reduced new infections, from tomorrow, the 2.2 million people who have been shielding can safely go outside
I know how much those shielding have sacrificed. Thank you to everyone who has protected our NHS & saved lives
