@CADMultigun @weedwatcher80 @PatriotNorth1 @TWilsonOttawa Possibly it could also been done to indirectly boost sales of arms. There are 11 million registered weapons and 2.3 million gun owners. Removing a % might increase demand. There may also be other motivations e.g., political image making-law and order stuff

@CADMultigun @weedwatcher80 @PatriotNorth1 @TWilsonOttawa The act has been withdrawn. What should have happened consultation with gun owners, police organizations, manufacturers, gun safety experts, & scientific research are all absent. They were solving a problem that might not exist out of fear of mass shootings

@GAndreoffr @weedwatcher80 @PatriotNorth1 @TWilsonOttawa Fair, I was working on the common understanding & definition. You cannot simply stick a bit of plastic in to make most AR15sautomatic. The bolt carrier group would need replacing. In addition I think you may not be aware how effective automatic fire actually is

@weedwatcher80 @PatriotNorth1 @TWilsonOttawa I think you are correct in many ways. The law has been withdrawn. Although the intention was somewhat noble-remove assault weapons etc. It was terribly thought out, and there was no in depth consultation with gun owners or in depth research to support it

@ralphbuttigieg @MoreBirths There already is space, it's about cost & quality. Also less people doesn't perfectly equate to lower prices. If you have 75% less people you can merge 4 flats into 1 but you still have to pay for it

@MoreBirths Doesn't that also mean when population collapse to a low enough level they will increase again as there's more space?

@IanRunkle I want to know what is being offered. I honestly think the public has the right to know

The good thing is that Gladu was one of the most embarrassing CPC MPs. Getting rid of her is a plus. And the LPC is betraying every principle they claimed to have to pick her up.

Seriously, cut this nonsense out. Prime Minister Mark Carney has already said on camera that proroguing Parliament for partisan advantage isn’t even something he’s entertained, and that he absolutely would not do it. If I’ve seen that clip while sitting in France, so has everyone else. Pushing a narrative that’s already been publicly debunked just makes you look unserious.

With Gladu gone, Carney doesn’t even need Terrebonne anymore. After the by-elections, regardless if he wins Terrebonne, he will have a functional majority and will likely prorogue quickly to gain a majority in the committees. And we will have a majority liberal government.

@Jeff21461 @UA_SpaceMarine The president is famous for his stable, consistent approach to problems. Sometimes he manages to have the same opinion for up to 10-15 seconds

@UA_SpaceMarine John is right from a "not getting humiliated in the short term" point of view. But that just trades it for a "getting humiliated in the long term" one.

@DavidDraco @MarkJCarney Honestly this barely even scratches the surface of how suicidal joining the EU would be for Canada. On a personal level I love the idea of free trade & movement of labour with the EU but ignorant comments like the OP's are just damaging to Canada

@DavidDraco @MarkJCarney Canada would also be required to sell all goods in metric (I love metric) which with the USA using Imperial would mean any and all purchases/sale of goods from/to the USA would need to be in Metric. The USA won't buy them and will charge a premium for metric to canada

@DavidDraco @PhilipFadi @globeandmail At present the US has a 15% tariff on all EU Nation goods. 89% of Canadian exports to the USA are 0% tariff due to CUSMA which Canada would no longer be part of. So yes that would be quite the horror. Your ignorance proves their point.

@TheLaurenChen Okay but who the fuck is leaving their country for more than 3 months without intending to permanently leave the country? Nobody goes on a 3-month vacation. Well no normal people do.

The Bazerkan Oil Field in Iraq’s Maysan Province has reportedly been targeted by drones. This could potentially be a false flag, as there is no clear reason for Iran to strike oil infrastructure controlled by the Iraqi government.
