I’m about to catapult myself into the querying trenches this weekend! The last 8 months consisted of me spending A LOT of time perfecting UNDER THE CARPET after working with an incredible editor. Of ppl who begin writing a novel, only 3% ever finish. Of those, 1/6000 find an agent. Of THOSE, 1/50 get a book deal. Combined odds: 1 in 10,000,000. Yet ~500k to 1M new books are trad pubbed every year. It CAN happen. Dreams DO come true. DON’T GIVE UP. #writingCommunity

@CAS_author Morning is the best time to write because your mind is (usually) uncluttered. That worked for me for six books, including while I was working full time. Then COVID hit and I took a part-time job to make ends meet that requires me to do an early shift. PM creativity not there.

The goal this week is to TRY my hardest to wake up at 4:30 each morning so I can work on editing my novel for an hour before I leave home for work. For those who focus on their writing super early & before the workday, do you have any tips? #WritingCommunity #amquerying

@CAS_author I used to do that. It does get easier with time, especially when you start going to bed as early as you can. I learned to love the quiet before children woke up.
